I had to send my MJ back. Too many complaints from the party I was speaking with about me breaking up badly. MJ's customer support was not the greatest. It took a bit of effort to get it returned under their 30 trial deal.

Hi Tony,

We just ordered the Cable internet. Should be installed soon. They are working on setting up installation before end of the month.
I am soooo anxious to get on Cable!! This dial up is terrible.

No, they did not set me up with a number during the intial call. As soon as my cable internet is installed, I will call and set up a number. It may be difficult to obtain Maine # as the 207 area code calling area is listed as "pending". Hope that can be available SOON.

Thank you for all of your answers and the pictures you posted were most helpful. We're looking forward to using our Magic Jack!!

Thank you,
Shirl & Rich

deeratpond!

Magic Jack assigns you the number, not your cable company. You had to of gotten a number from Magic Jack if you ordered the service. Your cable connection only supplies an internet connection for Magic Jack. Glad you got cable. You better put a seatbelt on your chair after being used to dialup. You've already ordered MagicJack right??

You don't get assigned a phone number for your MJ until you register after MJ installs itself the first time you plug it in to your computer.

No, I didn't get a phone # when I ordered it. I can't use it until we get the cable internet... I can either call them OR get one when I register it online.
I was abit surprised about NOT getting a number... Oh well, I will in due time!!

Thanks for your supportive responses!! A huge help!!

Thanks to all!!

I have another question regarding using Magic Jack...

Can we call cell phones too?? Has anyone tried calling a cell phone??

We received our Magic Jack, but can't try it out until we get our cable internet. Would like it sooner, but appointment is for August 8th.

Thanks again...

I've been using Magic Jack for about a year now. I consider it an 80% solution. There are times when it just won't connect to a number you are dialing.

There have been 3 times this year where the land line to our town has been severed because of construction and I was able to use Magic Jack to dial out.

I've taken it on a few business and camping trips just to play with it. I've had good luck using it with wi-fi connections through my laptop.

I won't be giving up my land line anytime soon, our cable internet has less than stellar uptime, but it has already paid for itself.
