A couple of months ago I was talking to a neighbor down the road from us about our house since he was a good friend of the man who built it 10 years ago. I had noticed a utility pole on the back side of the property with the wires cut off at the top of the pole but figured maybe they had a utility shed or something back there so I ask him about it. He told me that there was a mobile home back there and they stayed in it while the house was being built. It took me about two seconds to figure out then there must be water and sewer back there also. After some digging I found out there was a septic tank and 3/4" water line all within 20 feet of the pole. I had instant visions of the ultimate at home campsite. A lot of clearing, 62 yard timbers, 25 tons of dirt, 20 tons of gravel, some electrical and plumbing work, a little blood sweat and tears ( I did all the work myself)and it was done. Total cost was only $1250.It really came out nice and is in a beautiful spot thats easy to get in and out of. I decided to build the picnic table and add the fire ring and in ground lighting to top it off.
Now many will say camping at home is not the same as going somewhere and you are right but, we enjoy staying in the camper and for us its a change if we can't travel or have things to do around the house. I have even gone up and built a campfire and just chilled for a while. It really is relaxing. I figured it cost me about 99 cents to pull the camper up there and back so you can't beat the price. Plus I can crank up the stereo, leave my tacky lights on all night, let the dog run loose and even wash it if I want. For us it works well and if your ever in Fayetteville and need a place to stay just let me know.

My other project was to complete my bathroom in the shop.(yes me and Al Bundy had a dream) It came out nice and nothing beats your own throne in the garage!

I also added a 30 amp rv outlet inside and out plus a water faucet so I can fill up the water tank without pulling the camper outside. Lifes good!!

We have a slab beside the house with full hookups (not as nice as yours) and sometimes when we get home from a trip, we just stay in the RV for a while until we are ready to move back into the house. It also works well as an extra bedroom. We have been known to turn the house over to company and move out to the RV for a few days. That makes houseguests much less annoying. Last week, some friends who were building a house had to vacate the old house, but had to wait a couple of days to move into the new one. They stayed in our RV a couple of nights. Their kids wanted to stay there and forget the new house.

That looks good and gives me an idea of what to do on my on private campground. I have 5 acres, water & elec, two 30 amp sites. The gravel should make a good pad. Thanks for the idea and enjoy.

Very, very nice. The only thing I can see you are missing is a small fishing pond.

Would it be OK for me to camp there when you're not?? I'd be happy to pay $1.99 per night giving you a tidy profit.
