It was HOT but I made it to the FMCA national rally in St Paul Mn.

Over 2400 coaches attending is the number I heard. When I visited the Class B displays I was told over and over how popular they were. If they would take the Class A and large C in on trade, many said they could have set records on sales this year. The problem they kept bringing up was what to do with trades in todays market.

The factories had great displays. Their factory reps were ready to answer questions and take my trade. I am not ready to give up my LTV just yet.

I went to the Leisure Travel Van display and seen Dale Borstad and his daughter Nicole from Lake Region Rvs working with the LTV and Pleasure Way people. LTV and PW were side by side and right next to Road Trek. It sure made comparing easy.

As you may know LTV was purchased by Triple E. SURPISE they had a Regency 28ft with 2 slides a round booth dinette fully equipped as a B+ on display. It had a foctory retail price sheet including frieght to Mineapolis of 111850.00 This was with leather, satelite dish, 2 slides, generator, and more. Glad I got to see it.

Every one talked about the lower number of attendees at this rally due to fuel costs. However I sure seen a lot of class Bs in the camping areas. Road trek owners showed their strength at this rally, they were lined up in a row as nice as could be.

This was held at the state fair grounds wich has lots of buildings for exibits and seminars. I heard may nice coments about that.
Tomorow is the last day. If you are close by, it is worth a stop to see.

We were driving south on US 52 between Minneapolis/St. Paul and Rochester last Saturday on our way to La Crosse, WI lamenting the lack of RVs on the road when out of the blue . . . wham! . . . we were besieged with dozens of Class A oncoming motorhomes. We did not know at the time about the FMCA rally.

It really is quite a spectacle to see the migration in and out. We have had the summer rally three times here in Minot. When you consider this is a town of only 35,000, it certainly fills the place up when 5000+ motorhomes of all shapes and sizes show up.

The last time it was here - a couple years ago, we had quite a large showcase of new Bs from the manufacturers, but only a small fraction of the attendees were driving them. It took over a month for the dealers to get all the new rigs moved out after it ended. Parking lots all over town were full of them waiting for drivers.
