what is the thing about the step to lock your door? are all pups like that?

I'm having trouble with that one also. Folding my step in has no effect on the door.

1. A pond pump and a 5 gallon water container makes it real easy to fill the water tank. Fill the container, place pond pump in bottom, with vinyl tube attached. Place end of vinyl tube in water inlet, plug in pump and sit back and have a drink.

2. If you use the inside fridge for food, save a lot of hassles and room by keeping an outside cooler for cold drinks.

In our pup days, we found it easier to keep a fresh water container on the picnic table. Just about everything was cooked outside on the grill, or on the stove which could be mounted on the side of the camper. Since we didn't have a water heater, we'd put a pot of water on to heat while we ate. After dinner, hot water would be ready for dish duty.

Never really understood the value of a lock on the door when camping. All you have to do is pull the canvas away from the framing, reach in and unlock the door. At least that's the way it was with our Starcraft PUPS.....after dropping the door in place, the canvas was attached with Velcro.

Thank you GizmosMom!!! I can't wait to use that trick our next trip.

I make my own fire starters, they are cheap and easy and seem to last longer than some of the ones you buy. I take lint from the dryer and put it in the spaces of a cardboard egg carton. Pack the lint in well. Then I take either leftover candles or buy generic cheap candle wax from a hobby store and melt it on the stove in an old pot. Once melted pour it over the lint in the egg carton. Let them dry completely. When you are ready to use one just rip one off "one egg at a time". I have found that lint from towels seems to work but but any old lint will do.

ok i got one. before you leave the night before take 4 or 5 bottles of water and freeze them. when you hook your trailer up to the TV and plug the trailer in put the fridge so it runs off the car and put the frozen bottles in the fridge by the time you get to camp the fridge is nice and cold for the food.
"sorry fleetwood owners i dont think this will work for you" but it does in my jayco.

as for the comment about locking the door its not about security it is mainly about the security for the parents for the youngsters that are sleeping so they cant get out. not security.

We have given each of our three children their own colored rubbermaid tote for ALL of their belongings. Clothes, toys, books, etc. This helps out tremendously for me (code-MOM)so I do not have to track everything down all the time!

Any suggestions on how to get away from living out of slimey zip-lock bags for our bathroom stuff? (Toothbrushes, pastes, soaps/shampoos)

Thanks!

Cool idea on the colored totes. (Bathroom stuff in ziplocs is never easy! Hope someone has a solution)

One trick I like which can be used anywere you might get seperated from your kids especially little ones is to put a piece of masking tape on the inside of their shirt with your cell phone number on it. If your child gets lost and is found they may know the home number but your not home/ Just remind them to show the number.

We bought the family size personal organizer from LL Bean.. fits everything we need (shampoos, body wash, sunscreen, bug spray, toothpaste, medications) and has a hanger, so you can hang it in the camper. I keep it stocked so when we travel, I can just grab it and go.
