Thanks to everyone for the tips I know I will try the fire starter from lent and candelwax thing, and the frozen drink ice cubes. I will also make a hand washer from a plastic jug with a golf Tee.

NPD and Larson6,

Not sure about all campers, but on my Coleman the door opens out. The step can be folded to the closed position over the door so you can not open it. Our step is locked with the key. As pointed out by others you can alway pull the velcro off the sides or even take a knife to canvas, but it does keep someone from just walking up and openeing the door. We have never had a problem but I saw a guy do it last time we were camping and thought I would pass it along.

I am bummed out cause our trip this weekend was just canceled. We were heading to Mount Plesant (near Charleston SC) but a storm off the cost of Savahna keeps spinning rain showeres on us. I don't mind a little rain while camping, but on and off rain for two solid days means lots of Candy Land and Sorry with two little girls that want to be outside.

My step does not fold -- it is part of rear bumper (fleetwood evolution 'neon')- bed is at tongue end. Door(lower half of 2 piece) has keyed deadbolt - on frame - cannot 'un-lock' by reaching in thru 'hole' in wall.

I'm having trouble with that one also. Folding my step in has no effect on the door.

My steps aren't even attached to the PUP!!

Ok, for the soap and shower stuff, we have a 3 gallon bucket with lid, (this one use to hold kitty litter) and its the Beauty Bucket. It holds all of the soap, shampoo, bug repelant, sun screen, etc. At shower time, you can bring the whole bucket to the shower (gives you a place to sit if you are waiting in line) or we also have a net beach bag that you can pick out what you need and even carry your towel, and clothes in. We do still have some stuff in zip lock bags in the bucket, and it is sometimes annoying when people put the bottles back without drying them off. But all in all it keep things organized. We generally camp with a bunch of people and that way they know where to find that sort of stuff. Usually each family has their own bucket.

Before my last trip I purchased a Rubbermaid Hanging Canvas 20-Pocket Shoe Organizer I cut the organizer into two separate organizers.

You can store alot of items you need at a moments notice, like tooth brushses, flash lights, soap, detergent, salt & pepper. It saves same of having to pack and unpack each item each time you use them. I have notice counter space is a premium in our Coleman Popup. And by having this I have everything I need at with in arm's reach. You will need to either put some groometes in the half you cut off or use some duct tape. (Every camper should have a roll for those customizations on the road).

There are many others but I will just list this one.

Yours truly,

The best camping tip I can offer is:
Leave the M-I-L at home. Travel in peace and save weight.

Not my Fleetwood, it has a swing door My old Coleman had a door that lowered into a step it had to be raised to "lock" the PUP.

I don't have in-law problems. In fact, I just told my wife the other day, "I like your mother-in-law better than I do my own"
