We've got weak springs on our rear jacks so I ordered a new set from HWH. They came today and now I got one question. How do you replace the old ones?
The new springs are very strong so I suspect the old weak ones are still pretty strong.
Any help will be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Here is a way to do springs. Go to home depot an buy a package of cedar shimes. There wedge shaped pieces of wood about 8 inches long.
Entend the jack down so the spring is extend. Put the shims in the open coil of springs, don't need to to many. Now retract the jack. Get yourself a pinch bar and raise the jack up a few more inches. The spring should lift right of the hangers.
Put the new springs in vise or something to hold it firmly. Now now bend the spring and put a few shims in the coils as they open up. Once you have a few in there it's ready to install. You might have to bring the jack up fully retracted. but you should be abel to get them in . Bill
I have read that an easy method is to use tapered shims. Get a 1/2 dozen or so and put them between the coils. Put enough in until you have enough slack to easily detach the old spring. Take the shims out of the old spring and put them into the new spring attach it and remove the shims. Replace one spring at a time.
I had mine replaced with the heavy duty ones under warranty.

If you have a floor jack just jack up one side and first spring will come off with no effort, same with second one when the first one is removed. Do the same installing new ones, first one is no problem then use the jack to raise the other side until the spring will go on with no straining. This is assuming the plates swivel like mine.
