I understnad better than most the economics involved with supply & demand and with downturns. What I was doing was giving some insight to the situation from a lenders point of view. Depreciation is a fact of life. What the lender is concerned with is once a company goes out of business and no longer can support its network of customers, existing units begin to decline faster than other coaches of similar quality do to a host of reasons. No doubt thay HAD some great floor plans and were wife friendly as I call it. I do wish Mark well if he plans to start something else.
Nice jab with the boat comment!

When did WW quality take a dump? I remember looking at new ones on 03' and 04' and being impressed with fit and finish. I was especially impressed with finding finished/treated/painted wood in out of the way places that would be unfinished on other makes of trailer. I also noticed that areas under sinks, counters, behind walls etc were "clean"; ie, no sawdust/screws/wood chips etc. At the time, WW owners couldn't say enough good things about their units on this forum.
My "new" (to me) 06' (built in 04') exhibts the same quality of fit and finish that I found in 03' and 04'. Overall the trailer looks and feels "tight". What exactly should I be concerned with on an 06' LE3505?

"Thank God I ran into this before I pulled the trigger!! My folks just closed a deal on getting out of their Class C and are getting me into a 07 FK19 Used for $17500. The only thing holding the deal up is me driving the Class C parked at my house up to Las Vegas and that is supposed to happen this weekend! Thats why the dealer is selling for a great price. Should I RUN away from the deal?? Please ADVISE quick!"
Well, you say it is used so no factory warranty anyway. Might be able to wrangle a third party type of warranty from the dealer if they know you know WW is gone. Probably some of the applicance warranties are still good. Camping World offers some kind of RV protection plan too I think. So I would not run to far without looking it to it futher.

derwud,
Too much?? I've been shopping for a used hauler (3weeks) in the 19-21ft range and that price was the best I could find at a dealer. But dont have to run away?

No.. Have you looked on Craigslist? I have seen many a trailer going for much better prices out here (L.A. area). If it must be from a dealer, then you will have to pay their price. but to me 17.9 is what you should be shooting for on a new 08/09... Hell I would sell you my 06 FS2300 for that price..

$18K will buy a lot more than a used 19-foot toy hauler in this market..
Definitely shop around on the various classified forums, and craigslist...run away from that deal.

The problem is, is that the deal is to help my Mom get out of her Class C that is killing her with the payments and she doesnt use. I cant afford the payments either. So it has to be from a dealer unfortunately.. But should I stay away from WW is my question. And what toy hauler should I be looking at. Seems that this is just the start of the RV/TT meltdown and why I need to help my mom get out of hers.

767CAPT wrote: Why the sourpuss attitude? What has YOUR experience with Weekend Warrior been like? Or are you just another bozo who likes to kick folks when they're down? Our experience (we actually DO own a Weekend Warrior) has been pretty good. Good buying experience, and it's served us quite well. Of the five off-roader families we're friends with, four own Weekend Warriors, and none have had negative experiences. Guess that bothers some of you. Too bad, we're going to keep enjoying our trailers.
I'm with you Captain. I have a had a few problems with my WW, but since I trust my repair skills more than the other guy's, I've taken care of them myself. My trailer has been everywhere from Canada and down into Texas. It's made hundreds of trips down Bessemer Mine Road for District 37 races and always made it in and out from the Rockpile and beyond. I've only had tire problems on the road. My WW has always kept us warm, provided a comfortable bed, a full kitchen and a hot shower. It's never let us down even once. So in spite of it's imperfections, I still love it and plan to keep it for several more years. Just like my Skylane RG that has occasion Gear problems, I still love it too.
I guess one could say the same about the DW, not perfect but always there when you need her and despite her faults, you still love her forever.
