We own a 98 WW, 38 foot. it was originally built for Mark the owner of WW. he used it as a demo trailer. it has all the bells and whistles, mirrored cabinets, hold 112 gallons of fresh water, 4000KW Gen, you name it. I love the trailer, but not the problems we have had. We flew down to Perris and met with him in person, we could not buy it from him directly, so he arranged to have it deliverd to Dan Gamels in Modesto , CA. that is who we bought it thru.

Sam my other half, is heavy into the off road racing, we told Mark we would be hauling race cars in it...... he said No problem... it would handle it.

Well after many blown tires, too many times of sitting on the side of the Hwy in Nevada while Sam replaces blown wheel bearings, The axle ratings betwen all three axles were not even enough to accomodate the dry weight of the trailer let alone a load. The walls collapsing and bowing out. The floor breaking apart around the tie down rings, this trailer has been back down to Perris at least 5 times for major repairs....the last one being less than 6 months ago.... It still isn't right, We have thrown our hands in the air, anmd we are just dealing with it. It is a shame. We both realy love the roominess of the trailer, and all the other stuff it came with , but the structural problems have been a night mare.

I wouldn't mind finding a used 06 to put a Jeep/Rhino or Ranger in. I think 06 was a good year WW or it seems that way on this forum. Has anyone noticed the prices going down lower since the news about WW?

I bought my 06 FK1900 a year ago in March for $16,150. That was complete with a built in Onan LP generator. I bought used from a private seller and thought it was a great deal at the time.

Read up about the class action suit in another thread. Make sure you have the heavier gauge tongue. I haven't had any problems with mine other than a few quality control issues where the factory workers demonstrated poor workmanship. I fixed them all myself without much problem.

The reason the "new to you" trailer is $17,500 is because they are taking the negative equity in your moms rig and putting it into yours. As long as you are good with the payment and and you understand that, then you have a good deal. Just make SURE you read the posts on the recall for that trailer about the tongue and you have the new Heavier tongue that beemerphile1 is talking about, and then and only then you are good... Good on you for helping your mom out, I can only hope my kids would help me out when I get to my parents age... Have fun with the new rig and let us know how it go's....

I have to respond, don't know why. The guy I contract for, who is a good friend, bought a full throttle 40+5. The +5 is an extra 5 feet in the garage. The trailer is absolutely beautiful and retails for over 90k. He's had to take it back for various problems, most of which are definitely quality issues....which on a 90 thousand dollar toy hauler is inexcusable. I personally like the one where weekend warrior put the kitchen island 1/4" too close to the slideout, causing the slideout to not be able to fully close. Did no one actually check this before selling this high end trailer???? Or the table tha thas oen leg in the slideout and the other in the main body of the trailer, which means you have to take down that table to pull the slideout in, which renders the dinette useless if you end up somewhere you can't use the slideout. There have been numerous other little things that were completely the fault of rushing this trailer out the door. And on a trailer this expensive that is absolutely inexcusable. Anyone who's ever been to an RV show can tell you about all of the weekend warrior owners who wish they never bought the trailer. It's really sad.

Investors buy RED companies all the time! In fact RED companies are often the best investments since they often have very strong sales (i.e. WW) and are very poorly managed (i.e. WW again). That is what Cerebrus does (ala Chrysler) much of the time.

My prediction: either WW will emerge from some sort of BK as a smaller, leaner and higher quality company making better quality products OR they will be acquired in BK by someone who sees the value and will continue the brand.

I think you nailed it, Malder.

The Weekend Warrior name alone has value. It is iconic of the sector in the same way that Xerox is iconic of copying machines. Moreover, Mark has expertise and direction that is valuable. I am sure that Weekend Warrior will continue on as a brand, and I think Mark will be involved.

My StepDad is a mega dollar investor, I'll ask him to bail out WW.

After reading that, WW doesn't look to good but I really hope they can pull something else off and come back as WW does owe me warranty work.

I do like the cosmetics of WW. If they do come back hope they hire a structural engineer familiar with TH's to help improve on the infastructure. Wouldn't require one full time, just to check out what they will be design building in the future to confrim it would calc out and hold up to the real weights of the trailer and what they are rated to hold.

Quality control # 1 priority. Checklists and inspections as the trailers are being and are built complete.

Also if they do come back and start building again and find issues with what they are building, notify their custmomers right away in writing and fix them. Don't wait and let the issue's turn into threads on this or any other web site.

Just a few suggetions Mark. Good Luck.
