We have a trip planned in a couple of weeks and don't want to carry water. Is it possible to still rig something up and get water out of the faucets in horsfall campground? We are sand camping next to horsfall. I'm sure there is a spot in town to fill up, but don't know where.

There is a great little campground near Coos Bay/Charleston harbor. They may let you fill up. There is a fish cleaning station there that may (can't recall) be just outside the entry pay station. It has water (and fish guts )

good salmon fishing there!

The campground host at horsfalls will fill you up, I've stopped in there a couple of times to get water.
Have fun,

they have water but no sewer, that is why we didn't stay there one year. We stayed at the cg just past the entrance to Bastendorff.

There is a water station in Eastside, wich is part of Coos Bay. It is on the far south end of town, and take Coos river hwy, and it takes you to Eastside. Go past the Coach House Restraunt and bar (Great Food), and when you get to the next intersection, the water station is right there in front of you. Or you can stop by my work at Courtesy Motors, and I will fill you up. I am on Ingersoll Ave in Coos Bay right behind Wendys Restraunt.

Thanks for the replies. Is the host at horsfall really going to let people fill up though? It would seem that everybody would be filling up and there would be a line of trailers.

Possibly the biggest problem with getting water at Horsfall is that you'll be blocking the road while trying to fill up unless there are vacant sites that you can pull into temporarily. You might want to check out the new day staging area to see if there is water available there. Another idea would be to drive down to the Horsfall Beach Campground. They have pull thru sites in the center of the campground and I doubt if it would be a problem with the camp host if you're in a vacant site or in the day use for a few minutes to fill water. Note that the spigots in these campgrounds are not threaded for a hose to screw on to....so you'll need a bare end hose and a hose clamp to secure it temporarily...and someone to hold the valve open or tie it in an on position while filling up. Have a great trip!!!

A number in our group filled up at the Love's Station in Roseburg. Gotta fuel up anyways so, that may be a good option.

Have fun!

We just got back last Saturday from Coos Bay.
