We are about to get satellite tv with dish network and I can't get the same answer about programing from any dish person. Do you get the major networks such as abc, cbs, nbc, wherever you go? We ordered their Top 200 package. We don't care where it comes from such as west/east coast, just want to verify we get it.

Only if you filled out the RV waiver form and applied for the DNS channels.
There is an additional fee per month also.

You have the option above, OR you can get the locals channels wherever you are on your regular air antenna. Unless of course , you are in OK and you only get the two (lol).

Maybe you'd get more responses if this were moved to the Technology Forum? Just a thought.

If you are very close to home (anywhere from a few miles to a few hundred miles) you should get the same as you get at home,,how many miles depends on where in the "Circle" your house is The reason for this is what is called "Spot Beam" technology.. I could go into great detail to explain spot beams but it's easier to just say a Spot beam is like a spot light.. If you are in the light, you are in the light,,, and if you are in the dark,, You are in the dark.. In fact a spot light *IS* a spot beam (Was that easy to understand or what?)

If you like to park oh, say, 1,000 miles (or more) from home (I do) then you can file an RV-Waiver. Now, depending on the account and who you talk to and a few other things you may have to have a seperate RV account, (They really are not supposed to give an RV waiver to house accounts.. This is part of what got DISHnetwork in trouble) If you have DirecTV you send the waiver application, a copy of your driver's license and RV registration.. To DirecTV (you download the form from their web site by the way or they can E-mail it to you)

If you have Dishnetwork You contact All American Direct Communications LLC with the waiver application.. As Dish is now enjoined from offering "Distant Network Service"

IN either case you will get network stations from either the New York/Atlanta area or from Las Angles area... Or both Price is "Per station" and is very small.

Which ticks me off by the way cause I liked network service from Chicago (Which Dish used to offer)

Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

Not a police officer, but I was school crossing guard in Jr. High!

Hope you get an answer here. We FT, have DirecTV (I know, you said DISH), signed the waiver, and get EVERYTHING! See lots of DISH setups out there, so I can't imagine you wouldn't get the major networks. That wouldn't be a very good business plan, I don't think. Gotta be competitive.

Thanks brauneyz, I got aggrivated with the runaround from dish network and canceled the installation. But if I don't get something installed by the time the new fall shows start I may be in trouble with the DH. If she misses Grey's Anatomy, ER, or Desperate Housewives I may be a desperate husband in the ER.
