I just read about Holiday Cove RV Park in Cortez,FL. Thought I would ride my motorcycle up there and check out the place. It is only 65 miles north of me, so it would be a convenient place to take the MH, in between long trips. I try not to let the MH sit for more then 4 to 6 weeks at a time.
My GPS routed me onto the south end of Longboat Key and then take the exit to Cortez. I realize I could stay on 41N until I get to Cortez road, but I would guess that LBK would be more scenic.
Is there any problems with getting on and off LBK? Years ago I had read it was pretty snooty and they didn't welcome outsiders.
Are there toll bridges to LBK?

Have been going to the area for years. No problem getting on/off LBK. Didn't find people snooty at all. Campground is easily accessible off of Cortez. Wouldn't hesitate to go there to relax, fish , boat. Check out their website. They were selling lots, but don't think they have had too many takers.Still a good place to go. Wish we were only 65 miles away from LBK.
Thanks for the replys.
We are going to the Rally Park, at Lazy Days, this Tuesday for 3 nights. I try and go somewhere at least every 4-6 weeks to keep the MH exercised. Holiday Cove should be a good alternative. We came back from a 4,800 mile trip, the beginning of June. With the price of fuel, we will probably keep our longer trips to only 2 a year.

We live a few miles from Holiday Cove. You'll really enjoy it this time of year. Longboat Key connects to Anna Maria Island (no tolls). The beach towns of Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach and Anna Maria are pretty quiet now, but lots of interesting places to explore.
In fact I was just by there today. Holiday Cove was barely half filled. Directly across the street from the CG is a really neat arts & crafts gallery called "Simply Put", plus a yummy homemade ice cream store called Tylers. Starting next Fri. they're sponsoring an evening event featuring craft vendors, music, even Fire walkers! Just a way to get the community to get out an support local businesses during this slow season.
So if you're camping there on July 25, just walk across the street for something fun to do between 6 and 9:30. Look for the "Stone Roses" craft display, that's ME, say hi and that you read about this on the Forum! ANd enjoy a treat at Tylers!
