On the lighter side of how they can tell if your dog is aggressive at 'check in'?....maybe they ask you to roll your window down and they stick their hand in and if they don't get bit...you get to camp there.

I can't get off the floor!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've seen the places that even don't let you in if your dog is black!

Actually I would. I'm more worried about one kid hurting another kid at a party than the chance they get hurt by a dog. Your kid is more likely to die in the toilet that getting killed by somebodys dog, and by a large margin. I'd be more worried about your kid getting hurt by a sicko or perv than somebody's dog at a CG. I've got my own shoes to think in. My shoes have 3 doggies and I might be sent home because you're (people in general) afriad one is black or you (again people in general) can't watch you own kid enough that you'd let him walk over to another person they don't know and be exposed to a strange dog? Maybe they should stay home for their child's sake.

I think is a good idea to have that rule. If you were having a party at your house, would you allow someone to bring there pit bull to your house if you had kids? You don't know what that dog will do. Are you willing to jeopardize your child's safety just to let your guest do what they want? There are very few "aggressive" dogs if you ask the owners. The owners don't want to risk the liability by having somebody bring in their dog that chews up one of the campers' kids. Think in someone else's shoes one time.

They can't just say " no pit bulls", because they now have about 6 different names for pit bulls and they would have to list all of them. And this way they don't have to list wolves either.

19Sandie54 - sorry I didn't know you asked me. I don't know my dogs breeds. Their american mutts from the pound. What difference does it make? I already said I understand what it means when it is spelled out. I said I have a problem with vague wording.

And I really hate it when people put an animal ahead of a human. Sorry for you.

BTW, I didn't mention anyone's kids getting killed. An aggressive dog can tear a pretty big hole in a child's tender arm or leg. Many people don't keep their dogs on a leash. And, again, I used the word "many", not all, so don't go there.

All I know is that DW and I were walking in the neighborhood when a non aggressive dog on a leash turned around and bit DW in the leg. It was so fast that the owner did not even know what her dog had done. The problem is that no one in this forum has a dog that barks when left alone, everyone picks up after their dog, no one owns a dog that will bite, it is just that there are way too many campers that are not a part of this forum

Do you not know what aggressive means? will bark, snap, jump on, growl or bite at other people or dogs, that's what the mean.

I know lots of dogs who bark and jump under certain circumstances. I wouldn't describe any of them as aggressive. So, apparently, your definition of aggressive isn't anywhere near the same as mine. Which I think is the OP's point.

Please - explain how I put anybodys needs anywhere? What pets do you even bring to the CG? I can't imagine any pet owner being ok with vague wording. I'll still stick to my use of actual statistics. More kids die from drowning than anything else. Are you worried about the CG having a pool or lake? Add up all the dog bites and fatal dog attacks in the US and it is less than drownings. Use your head man. Ban all pets from the CG and the pool is still there which is way worse. You also said people don't put their dogs on a leash. Well, the CG says that dogs have to be on a leash. Why make a rule because people don't follow the first rule? I don't know what all the hostility in this thread is from. I thought I put it in the pet section. I was hoping to get some good info from pet owners and their exp with different CGs.
