We bought a 10 foot long sewer hose and rapidly discovered it was too short. We bought a second 10 foot long sewer hose and an internal coupler to connect them together. But the internal coupler seems to be too big to fit inside the sewer hose and too small to fit outside it. What are we doing wrong? Are we missing other necessary parts? Did we buy the wrong type of coupler?
All I've ever seen had the bayonet coupler at one end and the other end has the coupler fitting with "ears" that the bayonet fit around - twist them together and you are connected. I have no idea what an internal coupler does - maybe someone else can tell us.
soak the hose ends in real hot water and they will stretch over the fittings,,,

Warm it up like the previous posters said and then you need to corkscrew it into one ed of each of two sewer pieces. Not fun but it will work.,

I saw some connectors at Walmart that seemed to be just smooth surfaces, not the screw-in type. Is that what you have? You may have to get connectors made by the same manufacturers as your hoses to make it work. I suggest getting two bayonet connectors-a male and a female-because you won't always want 20 feet, and can then leave one off.
