Congrats on the new Rockwood. Hope you have lots of fun camping trips in it. We purchased our 8265S March 1st of this year and have really enjoyed it so far. Oh yeah, we tow our 8265S with a Chevy 1500, and its handled it great so far.

That's what we all say! (We're on our third RV )
We also have a Rockwood fifth wheel (3rd season with it) and I actually have had no issues since the purchase. Your experience will probably be similar, just enjoy.

We looked at the same model, and loved the floorplan. It was probably the best floorplan we found in that size and weight of trailer. The only things that bothered me about that model was the two sewer connections, with one being directly under the center of the slide. It would cause me to crawl under, or hook up before I put the slide out. One other thing was that the basement storage doors were a bit small. I wasn't sure if my lawn chairs would fit. It wasn't the deal breaker for us, it was the dealer who wouldn't give us a fair trade on our Jayco. If they would have dealt with me, we would probably be in one right now. Great unit tho; light, awesome floorplan.

Congrats! You sound so happy, and that is what matters when it all boils down.
Like others have said, I chuckle at your comment about not wanting/getting another fiver, ever. After having my FR Sandpiper for a tad over two years, and camping at least 1- 2 times a month for that 2 years, I am starting to look around...Love that Cardinal 30TS!
ENJOY YOURSELF!!!!

We really like our rockwood and we looked at the same model that you have but, because of the length we went with the 8244 instead. In Minnesota your 5er can't be more than 28 ft long if you want to tow a boat or trailer behind it. Just curious what do you get for gas mileage towing your unit?

Awful. Between 9.5 and 11 MPG without overdrive.
Later in the trip I began to use OD without overheating tranny and the RPMs went down but didn't get a MPG calculation. Not too many flat places in the roads down through Kentucky and Tennesee so the OD didn't get much use.

We get right around the 10 mpg range pulling ours which isn't much different from our TT which we got like 11-12 mpg. Although its not great it's better than getting 7-8 mpg like I thought I was gonna get. Still we really like our 5er
