Ive checked into a few things in the past, you can order the RV's CSA approved from factory, and the only charges when you come across the border are taxes and an excise fee for each air conditioner, as far as I know.

2005 23 foot Shamrock

Hoping sometime to upgrade..... (Prays for the day the Kids are on their own)

Blunose Rv'er,
I've sent you an email.
That dealer is trying to rip you off, that price is ridiculous.
I've checked prices in many places and my dealer, Terrell Camper in Terrell, nc is by far the best prices I've found. I've bought 2 rvs from them.
Jayco is a great 5'er. Good luck

Spring of 2007 we solicited pricing from a RV dealer in my DW's home town, a price from a dealer on Vancouver Island and a price from a Wholesaler in the US. There was quite a large range in the prices.
The Wholesaler was the lowest, but the Vancouver Island dealer was asking 18% ($6,000) more than the dealer in Ontario. A major factor in the pricing is the demand in the local market. There was still snow on the ground at the Ontario dealer's location.
As a point of reference, we could have bought the unit from the Wholesaler, allowed $4,000 to have it towed to Vancouver Island, and still paid $10,000 less than what the dealer on the Island wanted.
I suggest you consider doing a lot of investigating if you are not in a hurry. The dealer reputation for after sales support and warranty work were also important to us.
...good luck...

Here's another addition to the RV pricing in my are.
Just got back from a local RV dealer (Halifax, Nova Scotia), looked at 3 different brands. The lowest quality was a Keystone Laredo 30BH. Dealer quoted me a MSRP of 38500, and it was "Now on sale for 32900". I asked about the huge difference in MSRP (about 13000 if you go by MSRP) as I had gotten a quote from RV Direct and he claimed transportation. Seems the going trend around here is to rip off clients left right and center, and they all seem to display attitudes towards the customers. Do I owe them Something???? (Sarcasm)

RV Direct was the Wholesaler I contacted. They did have a good selection in the brands they carrying at the time. We were looking at a Flagstaff 5er.
We bought a Corsair, though, after looking for 4 months.

If I lived in Nova Scotia I definately would be heading to the U.S to pick up a trailer. A lot of Newfoundlanders have already bought in the U.S. I have two co-workers who have purchased from a dealer in Michigan this past year. The first one saved $17,000 on a 5th Wheeel. It is a very easy process to buy in the U.S. Don't let those Nova Scotia dealers rip you off. They must be taking lessons from the dealers here in St. John's.
I also got a quote to get a trailer delived from Michigan to North Sydney. $3000. There are a lot of KM's from Michigan to North Sydney. Imagine a dealer bringing in 3 or 4 trailers on a tractor trailer. His shipping cost for each one is small. Your dealer is again trying to rip you off with the shipping costs. I am surprised dealers outright lie to customers these days. It is so easy to contact a dealer in the U.S. and get all the real facts about costs and shipping.

I'm in shock. I asked for a price from a distributor in the US and got quoted less than 26K for a Jayco Eagle 345 BHS. Low and behold the closest Jayco dealer to me in Nova Scotia has the exact same unit on salt this week for $52900. I am totally astounded that the Canadian Dealers can pull these prices out of the air and rip people off like this.
