We had work done on our MH the first of March at Lazy Days (Tampa). The work was precertified. I have called Heritage several times and been told that it "is on a spreadsheet of claims that are over 90 days old and we are waiting for Heritage to release the funds".
Well, ya know, this claim is almost 6 months old. So I called the dealership (where we purchased the MH and Heritage extended warranty) and was told that Heritage was in the process of being bought out and that the "auditors had placed a hold on all accounts and funds"
My thoughts are to file a complaint with the Insurance Commissioner (my next challenge is to find out what State Heritage is domiciled in. Amazingly the dealership claimed that they did not have a current address or phone number). But, I wanted to know if anyone else is having problems with Heritage also.
Thanks !

If the claim is three to six months out and they are giving you excuses it's likely they are insolvent. I also think the dealership is giving you a BS story.

OP: Is your selling dealer in your state of residence? If so then they should be covered under your state's insurance laws, or at least that's the way it is here. You should be able to file a complaint with them rather than Heritage's home state.
On edit: I hope you get your money and that this isn't the start of another "my service policy company went out of business" or "my service policy company won't pay my claim" threads!!

File your claim in the state where you bought the warranty. The company has to be licensed in the state where you bought it.

If the insurance provider is insolvent then ultimately your claim would be paid by the insolvency fund of the state in which the insurance carrier is domiciled, but that could take a long time. Before you file a complaint, find out the insurance carrier's status. If they are NOT under receivership due to insolvency, then file the complaint. If they are, then you are wasting your time and will just have to wait in line for payment. You will be paid eventually, but I've seen these things take 2 years in some cases.
