I haven't got the brake controller hooked up!
We're going camping on Monday evening for the first time this year. We bought a new vehicle in January and so I totally forgot that we haven't installed the Prodigy yet! The wiring is all run in the vehicle, I just need the connector to go from the vehicle to the Prodigy.
Does anyone know if the Honda Ridgeline connector is the same one used for the Acura MDX? http://www.tekonsha.com/bch3070.htmlMy MDX is an '08.
If not, what the heck do I need to connect the two? I am pretty sure I received a connector with the vehicle that has a plastic plug to go into the vehicle, but of course no plug on the other end for the Prodigy, just open wires I believe.

I used the pigtail that Dodge supplied and the pigtail that plugs into the Prodigy. Using the Dodge manual and the Prodigy instructions, I was able to match wires by function and splice the two pieces into a harness. I soldered mine together and enclosed it in heat shrink.
I too upgraded tow vehicles or I would have just ordered the proper harness when I got the controller.

Ah, there lies the problem, I do not have a pigtail that plugs into the Prodigy anymore. The idiots who installed the Prodigy in our last vehicle (installed as part of our deal when we bought the trailer) installed it so it could NOT be pulled out of the harness. My husband had to break the harness to get it out and as it was -39 outside that day (not kidding), his fingers were so darn cold he forgot to get the wiring plug out of the vehicle. We sold the vehicle the next day and didn't have time to get it out before the new owner's picked it up.

Buy the pigtail...it will be well worth it. Of course, you can get the generic plug and splice wires...but the pigtail plug is easy (no splicing required and nothing to "unsplice" when you remove it down the road).

But I don't know if I can get one by Monday or for that matter, if the one for the Ridgeline works in the MDX. I might have no choice but to go with the generic, and I don't even know if I can get that by Monday (guess that means the camping trip will halt fairly quickly if I can't at least get the generic).

Good news. I found the generic pigtail in the city for $10. It doesn't seem anyone has the Honda one in stock, and I don't know if it would fit anyway. So, I'll connect the wires from the generic to the wires on the plug that came with the MDX and we should be good to go.

Got extra lucky and the store happen to have a Honda wiring harness and it fit the MDX.
