and F250 and F350?

Or Chevy 2500 and 3500?

From what little I can find it seems they have the same parts and shocks, springs, etc.

If I was worried about pin weight (assuming I am correct) why would I spend extra money for a 350 instead of a 250?

I really need your guys advise because this is probably the MOST IMPORTANT decission I am going to make for the next 10 years. If I screw this up, well I am screwed...lol

Hitting the road in 4 months. Already have 37' Day Dreamer and pin weight is about 3500 if that helps anyone. Oh I am getting a 18,000 hitch - is that enough?

Larger tires, larger capacity rear springs and a GVWR up to 11,500 on the SRW F350 and 13,000 lb on the DRW F350. If you plan on towing a 5th wheel it's a no brainer to get the 1 ton over the 3/4 ton.

That is a lot of trailer and you should have a lot of truck to handle it. Diesel 3500 dually with an exhaust brake minimum. Check the 5er forum. Good luck.

Dually was a must for me so not a problem.

Have any idea how much an exhaust brake cost to get installed?

You need a dually for that much pin. Plain and simple.

If you are getting a dually than the difference between a 250 and 350 does not matter. You can not get a 250 dually.

Get a Dodge 3500 dually. All late 2007 (6.7) and up have the factory brake and six speed auto. 5.9 has better milage and the brake will cost about $1600 installed. JMHO

Jimbo, here is what they are trying to say.

If you are going to pull a trl that weights in what you said. You just need a dually. There is no reason why an apple is called and apple or an orange an orange, thats just the way things are.

Thanks everyone. I know what to look at now.

Does anyone happen to know what it cost to install the 18,000 hitch?

Unless you have a 2004.5-2005 Cummins Automatic, and Chrysler won't warrant your truck with an exhaust brake. Something was changed in the 06 48RE auto tranny that permitted owners to install exhaust brakes without affecting their drivetrain warranty.

Can't understand why Chrysler has left us 04.5-05 Cummins Automatic folks behind and didn't come up with a flash or some fix so we could enjoy an exhaust brake without endangering our warranty?
