Thanks everyone. I know what to look at now.

Does anyone happen to know what it cost to install the 18,000 hitch?

It depends on if you need to purchase rails or other hardware.
Labor is usually $300-$400 for a fiver install depending on the mounting system. Rail kits vary and on some vehicles (like mine) you may need a special mounting bracket. With a standard rail mount system, once the rails are in it is usually simply a matter of placing the hitch in the rails and sliding in 4 pins.

Strange that my dealer said "No Problem" with the factory warranty on my '05 if I had a Pac Brake installed by them on my 48RE auto.

Something no one has talked about is check with your state on the registration. In Minnesota a new 1 ton will cost a little over $100.00 to buy plates for. A 3/4 ton will cost almost $400.00. Don't ask me why.

8ball, that's a question that get's complicated answers. Have the same problem.

As for towing a Day Dreamer, I'd be thinking of one of those Volvo 770's from that guy out in OK. That would answer ALL your tow questions, they get decent MPG, usually turn tighter than most long bed trucks, and have LOTS of internal room. (At least that's my dream TV, when I win the Lottery

That indeed is strange and incorrect on your dealer's part. If you have any Tranny problems, Chrysler will have an out to cover your tranny when they see the exhaust brake on your 05.

Us 2004.5-2005 owners have been waiting for Chrysler to ok warranty coverage with an e-brake installed since our year trucks came out.

I know someone here who understands the technical difference between the 2006 and 2005 48RE Automatic can fill you in on what Chrysler did to the tranny to make it warranty ok for an E-brake.

Just call or talk to Chrysler themselves. I realize that many dealers have even installed the Jake brand E-brake on these year trucks yet Chrysler said those particular year auto tranny's (48RE) can't be warranted if problems arise.

It was just a single part in the tranny that needed upgrading, I believe. Maybe some Dodge/Cummins owners can reply and give the details?
