I'm sure it varies a lot by region. Around here, there are still a lot of pumps selling LSD. There are even truck stops here that have LSD in some lanes, and ULSD in others. The switchover is happening at different speeds in different areas, and does not need to be complete until 2010.
What you say may be entirely true for your area. I think all that Texan is trying to say is that you can't extrapolate your regional experiences to cover the whole country. I don't think he's saying that you're intentionally lying, just that your information may not be completely accurate for all readers in all areas.
And to Susan: if your rig needs ULSD, it should plainly state it somewhere, especially in the owner's manual. If it doesn't say it needs ULSD, you should be able to use either. It all comes down to the model year of your ENGINE, not necessarily the vehicle. The rule of thumb is that starting with 2007 model year engines, you must use ULSD, but there may be exceptions. I have a 2007 model year vehicle, but fortunately it has a 2006 model year engine, and I can use either. The best advice is to ask your vehicle's manufacturer or dealer, they should be able to easlily tell you what you need. Anybody here is just making informed guesses.

Absolutely, I under stand that concept. They stated unequivocally that I was spreading inaccurate falsehoods and lies and when I asked what they got belligerent. We haven't had any problem getting fuel for the new truck, in our travels, period.
After I realized that my travels and experiences are irrelevant, I wanted to see if the texan was capable of tact without badgering and bullying. I see they are incapable of any form of useful dialog and my original character assessment was correct. When they attempted to report facts, from their perspective, they used internet gossip as gospel. From the internet gossip I have seen, and my own experience, LSD has the same effect as winter fuel on MPG for those of us with older trucks. Additionally, for those who can still get it, and have older trucks, they covet the availability.
Now that is a website with so much BS it's funny. As some from the PNW said, in the PNW there may be no LSD, but for those same people to call the ones in the south and southeast liars because they say with absolute knowledge that there is LSD being refined and sold for road fuel in many other states, is ludicrous, just as some of your statements were. LSD is still being refined and sold to the public and NO RETAILER is required to change over until 12/2010.
