They may eventually go out of business altogether. Seven locations in Seattle are scheduled to close. The business is based in Seattle. This cannot be a good sign for their future.
God Bless!

They have forced so many GOOD coffee shops out of business that seeing them close stores makes me very happy..
There is hope for those of us who like good coffee.. YIPPIE
(Most other companies I'd be sad to see them close but since what Charbucks does to a coffee bean should be a crime.. I'm happy to see 'em "Downsizing")
I have complained to several business that are "Proud to serve Starbucks" that they have NOTHING to be proud of in serving the world's worst coffee.
That has to beg the question that if they serve the world's worst coffee, how did they run those shops who sell good coffee out of business?

...an interesting phenomenon in the NW now is seeing small independents growing, many locating very near Starbutts to offer a good alternative. I have a strong distste for Howard Schultz, have been going to Robertino's for 21 years, and when on the road will try to find a good small operation.

Overpriced, under flavoured and over locationed....nature taking it's course. Same thing could be said about Tim Horton's coffee shops up here in the Great White North.

Because people succumb to tremendous marketing strategy. McDonalds or Burger King hardly have the world's best burgers, but they out sell every other burger place on the planet, because everywhere you turn there are ads and stores beckoning away.
If I were a betting man, I would say that most cities and towns have a couple of small, privately owned burger stands that are renowned for the best burgers in that town. Just came from one and I found myself munching away quickly, because it was sooo goood, unlike the McDonald's or BK.

We buy Jamaican coffee sometimes and it is VERY good! I usually buy it during cold weather since that is when we both drink a bit more coffee. I may have to give your suggestion a try.

I noticed in my region of the Country most of the store closings are in the "little rich kid", "yuppi" areas. Gee, did the "still-wet-behind-the-ears" bunch run out of pocket change for those over priced "big-shot" cool drinks?

They are closing one that just opened by us. I knew it was a bad location, not enough traffic. I do hate to see it go though, it was a nice place for the high school kids to meet for clubs. It made them feel "grown up" to sip on drinks that didn't even have coffee in them.

....I think it's great to see younger people in coffee places again, using them to study, meet up, or just hang out.
