I'm asking about this here only because this is the only forum (5th wheel) that I have been on and everyones has been so helpful.
How is the nu qube? I'm growing tired of my portable satelite. Looking for something easier without spending $1500+.

While working at Camping World part time I saw a few go out the door. I also saw a few returned. Biggest problem semed to be that people thought that all they needed was the VuCube and they would get sattelite service. NOT You still must suscribe to a service, Dish Network or like to get programing and then you must have a satelite receiver for same. Otherwise my biggest concern is that there is no way to secure the disk. The handle is open at the bottom so no way to chain it in place. If you are somewhere that you feel comfortable that is fine but in a questionable enviroment than it's $600 looking for a new home without your consent. Setup and all seemed to be quite simple though, connect cables, point handle North and use remote to set up. Thats all.

Type vu cube in the search box. You will find a lot of info. We have one and when I get straightened out with Directv, I'm confident that it will work great.

I was thinking of getting one as sometimes as domed unit cannot find a signal in a very heavy tree campsite.....I spoke with someone who was using one and they said it was great....they got it on ebay for $450....but paying 699 for it plus for it--I'd rather spend it on something else I need...but at least I know it does work.

I heard that the remote needed to operate the dish is propitiatory to the cube. So without it, you can't operate the cube. Course a thief probably doesn't know that and once its stolen, its stolen.

I have one and have used it twice now. It must have a very clear view of the sky in the direction of the satelite or it will not get a signal. It has a smaller dish inside and the signal strength is less due to this. I would recommend that you stick with a regular dish and a tripod and get a view finder to help with satelite aquisition. You will be money in the bank and have alot stronger signal strength.
