Hello All, my generator propane hose cracked a while back and I need to replace it. I think I better replace both hoses coming from the large tank in my MH....I was wondering if I can buy the the local ( like camping world ) Has anyone had to replace their generator hose and any ideas for me. Can I just use Hose Clamps on it? The motorhome is a 1992 and due for hose changes anyway.
Thanks!

absolutley do not use hose clamps. you can find different length propane hoses at most hardware stores, with the correct fittings on them. if needed you can also find an adapter fitting, but do not use hose clamps. i bought my propane hose for my generator at ace hardware.

Why not ?
I been using worm clamps on barbed fittings along w/ fuel injection hose for propane for the last 14 yrs. Like I said before, I may not always know whats politicaly right, but I know what works.

If you are replacing the hose on the pressure side I would not use hose clamps. On the vapor side it would be ok. Most gensets only need 8-10 ounces to run. I think clamps on the pressure side on a motor home is asking for trouble.

Are you talking about the big hose from the regulator to the carb? If so hose clamps are fine.

If you can find some of THIS high pressure hose and THESE high pressure connectors, you can cut the hose to length and put the fittings on yourself easily. Those fittings are reusable and the hose will last forever unlike the hose that comes with most campers.

I am looking for the hose that comes off the 100 pound propane tank and leads back to the generator. Is it a High pressure hose or just a standard hose?
I believe without going out to look I have two hoses coming off the tank. One heads to the generator. The other must be the stove, refer, etc.
I live in Henderson Nevada and hoping to buy it all local.

Look at the generator hose. If it comes after the regulator it is low pressure, if it comes off between the tank and the regulator it is high pressure.

As someone else said, DO NOT USE HOSE CLAMPS You want it done right,, A mistake, even a small leak.. And you might well wake up 2 counties over from where you parked your rig.
Camping world.. Your RV dealer A Propane dealer (NOT a fill-station but a real propane dealer, the kind that fills the tank at the filling station)
NOTE the hose for the generator may be carrying LIQUID propane, the other hose is vapor (ideally)
