I've had trouble with a state park and my 29'. All the tenters took the open big sites and the one I got was flanked with lots of trees in the space and along the road. But there were "recommendations" for nothing over 28' in that park too. We got her in after a little while!

I would think it would be something to consider. Our 5er is only 26 ft and I know some of the sites that we've had there would of been no way to get a bigger unit in there. Although with a longer unit you have a lot more living space. So there are pros and cons to a longer unit. Good luck

Stuart: You state the models you are looking at are in the 36-37' range. Are these the actual lengths or just some number the manuf's slapped on the units? Ours, for example, is a model 31RK, the brochure lists the exterior length at 33'11", but if you tape it from bumper to end of hitch pin its 35'7". You take those measurments and then add the truck, when its hooked up, and we are right at 50'!! I totally agree with countryrose in that you need to take at least a 50ft tape with you and get some real figures before you decide which rig to get.
Good Luck.................Marv

First you need to take a tape measure to the unit to see how long it really is. Then the answer to your question is simple.. Call ahead, tell them the length and number of slide and if you wnat a pull through or not. They will tell you yes or no and that is that. We have a 5th wheel that is just short of 40 feet with 4 slides. We like pull throughs... Have traveled the country..never had a problem.

Don't come to western Washington State Parks. This state has not upgraded their State parks for years, and thus if you have anything over 20' you will not find much in the line of spaces. We have a 38' 5th-wheel ans are very limited to what state parks we can go to.

We camp in a 38 ft Cedar Creek thats almost 13 feet tall. When we travel we refer to a book called "Big Rigs, Best Bets" a guide where the author personally inspects and approves an rv park before it's listed in this book. So far, it's the best directory I have found for big rig owners.

He pretty much says it all here with the exception that we like backins with our rear window.

I have a 36' 5er witch is really 40' when ya measure it.
I found that as long as the road is wide enough for the truck to swing around I can get it in most any campground. They advertise spots for big rigs, but they dont have roads to manuver through the campground, especially if the place is crowded. If they say they can handle a 35 footer, I can usually find a spot. Be aware of trees hanging over the road and close to corners!
