We are actively shopping for a fifth wheel. The models we like seem to be in the 36-37' range. Many RV parks stipulate that they can accommodate up to 35'. Would appreciate advice on whether this is a factor in real life? Should this weigh in our decision making?
Also, does having a "pull thru" campsite make much of a difference for a 5er vs. a class A.

I have not had an issue with length, But then again I do not go to very many private RV parks. I spend most of my time in National Forest Camp grounds and state parks. And those I have checked out first to find the spots I can fit into. Only private park I have wanted to visit because of it's age I can no longer visit because they will not accept my three slides. As long as you can back up your trailer I don't see any difference between them. If you cannot back up a MH then you certainally will not be able to back up a Fiver

Just tell parks with limits that you have a 35' fiver. As far as pull thrus, yes they are great especially in tight quarters or if you are mentally challenged at backing up like I am.

We have a 37 foot 5er and have never had a problem with any park whether it be a pull through or back in. We have had this 5er for over 3 years and have covered a lot of territory with no problems with site size.

We have a 39 foot fifth wheel and we have never had a problem with any park we have called and stayed at. We use both pull throughs and back ins.

Not sure what your actual question is but I CAN assure you that a 37 foot trailer is longer than a 34 foot trailer and will take at least 3 foot more space. If an RV park can accommodate a 35 footer then it probably can't (won't) accommodate a 37 footer.
Also, does having a "pull thru" campsite make much of a difference for a 5er vs. a class A. A pull through site would be the same for either type of RV. It's not that much harder to get into MOST pull through sites than to back in (unless some nut case goes and plants a tree right at the apex of the turn like they OFTEN do)  In those cases it's just easier to BACK into the pull through if you have a trailer but not really any easier that way with the motor home, regardless of it's class.

We have a 36' fiver and in 2 1/2 years and over 160 campgrounds we've never had a problem finding a space. Concerning pull throughs vs back ins, that's totally up to your ability to back up. It comes to you after a few try's and a lot of frustration, but you will learn how after you do it enough.
We actually prefer back ins because the window at the rear then usually looks out on nature and not another trailer, as you always get with pull throughs.

In my experience most private RV parks can accommodate the larger units. However I must caution you, don't rely on the brochure when it comes to exterior length. The book on my 5er Say's 36Ft, when we measured it, it was 37' 6in. Take a 50ft tape with you and measure the trailer yourself if you want and accurate measurement.

We went from a 25ft to the 31ft Mountaineer. The actual length of the unit is more that what the model number suggest. Yes you will need to be sure to mention the size when making reservations.
We enjoy State and National Parks, they are still on our list but getting in alot of them is very tight.

I found in the older prov sites my 31 ft was about it for length,i have had to wait at some campgrounds for a site to take our 36 ft /3lide fiver
