Well, Willow has a new problem that I have never dealt with. She barks at herself whenever she is reflected by a mirror - or the fireplace glass screen - or the front of the stove or dishwasher!! To make it worse, this weekend she found the mirrors on the closet and wall in the bedroom. She would jump up on the bed this AM and wake me up by barking at the image. Guess I will have to sleep with the spray bottle. Other than that she did pretty well for the first camping trip and first time in the motorhome since she got picked up and driven back to Nashville.
Anybody experienced this/ I had dogs that would look at themselves with some curiosity and then bump against the mirror, but they went on to just leave it alone. I have tried to show her that I am in there too petting her and bang my hand against it to show her, but to no avail. Puppies sure keep you young
Yes, the first poodle I had, Daise, discovered the mirror in the bedroom one morning, ferocious, you would have thought I had a lion in the room.
Growling, charging the bottomboard on the bed. It got better over time but I was thankful she was too small to see in any other mirrors.
Don't know the cure for it other than the spray bottle or maybe covering all the mirrors, sorry...can't really do that.
When Pickles is on the sofa opposite the tv and see's his reflection, he goes nuts too.

We had an Australian Sheppard that would do this with a picture of a cat and it freaked out the vet. With cats a predator in Australia this is understandable but he would kill any cat if you were not watching.
That dog is named Indawinda,(or Indamirra) and your dog is trying to protect you from it or in some cases just wants to play with it. The spray might work. fortunately neither of my dogs are bothered by it, but don't let the TV be on a station with a dog barking. That'swhen my go beserk.
I have a GSD that has decided we are in grave danger from any type of reflection. When she hears some one opening the cabinet to get a pot or lid she comes to the rescue.
Well, I don't feel so bad - just still a little frustrated. Got saved from the living room fireplace screen this AM. The spray is never around when you need it - it is in the motorhome. I have to get her to like Indamirra.
