I just picked up my new 23SS Shamrock last Thursday. The dealer told me that it was a good idea to check the slide roof each and every time we camp and remove any leaves, pine cones, small twigs, etc before bringing the slide in. The problem I have is how do I get up there a clean it? I have to bring a full size ladder with me camping every time otherwise I can't see or reach it. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Debbie

Slide topper! Saves time and effort and keeps the slide top clean of all that debris. I'm surprised your dealer didn't offer one. It'll be worth your while to get one installed.

Without a tipper about your only option is to get UP there by whatever means you have. Climb a tree, get on top of your tow vehicle parked along side or the EASIEST and one that makes the most sense, take a ladder. Good luck / Skip

it's a big slide and it will collect a lot of junk. we tried to go without a slide topper. i have a 4' liteweight ladder that i got at WallyWorld for about $25.
but it's a hassle. we actually had a problem with the top seal sticking to the slide, from sap/dirt/residue. we had to shove the top of the slide from the inside to break it loose.
well, we just got the trailer back from CW, where we had a A&E slide topper installed. we are leaving for SoCal on Tues. we'll see how well it works. hopefully we won't have to deal with the stickiness again.

I agree with the slide topper. But if you don't want one, I have been able to pull a picnic table next to the RV and stand on the table. I was easily able to access the top of the slide.
In fact, I have done this to dry off the slide topper after a rainstorm before we packed up. It has even helped in clearing stuff from the top of our awning before putting it away.

A pic is worth a thousand words.
I wish mine was a tight at Chuck's but regardless it does keep all the junk out.
Couple of trips ago after some serious rain storms I put the slide in and there was quite a bit of water laying on same. Better on the topper than on the roof of the slide.

Yup, topper is the way to go!

You should wipe down the TPO roofing every once in awhile too. It's easy with the slide in. You may need a step stool to reach it well though. Even with the topper, bugs, dust and dirt will still get between the topper and the slide box, but are easily handled with a cleaning cloth and a bucket of soapy water.
