Went up to the sierra's this weekend in our early this year built Rockwood 5th wheel. We used the furnace 3 or so months ago w/o a problem. As above, I could hear the solenoid engage, then the fan comes on for maybe 10 seconds, turns off and nothing.

Any idea's on what may be wrong? I checked the breakers and they are ok, cycled them and no change.

Ended up opening a window and turning on 2 burners to get the heat up for the kids. Trailer is still in the sierra's for the in-laws to use for a few days, then us for the end of this week. Would be great to have a trouble shooting plan, booklet says check breakers, then Tech service, LOL.

Voltage is up ( 12.6+)..... no 110v out in the meadow, lol.

Thanks
Allen

Is there propane to the furnace? Tank valve on and air purged from the system?

First thing we do is check the voltage AT THE FAN connections.
Next is check the sail switch to see if it's activating. If it doesn't set the gas valve will not work. If both of them are OK then we usually go to a tech as it's most likely in the valve or control.

Thanks for the replies.

No idea on brand/ model, left the literature in coach. I suspect Suburban, but didn't think to bring the brocure home.

I'll look at it this Friday morning. Is there an access door outside like the water heater? I think the access is next to the main power, looks like a screened door with cabinet hinges on both sides.... or is that just the air return to the furnace?

I did have to swap out an empty propane tank, but I think the auto switch should have prevented an air bubble?

Thanks

If I understand, the unit is about 6 months old - don't you have a warantee? If you don't then I'd call the furnace tech support. If it's a Suburban they have always been useless when I tried to get help. The advise above is right on - check voltage, then blow some compressed air thru the sail switch, or just jiggle it a bunch. If that does it, you're in good shape.

Thanks again.

Should be under warranty, just hoping to get some idea that I could try in the field. It will be home this weekend and will go in if I can't resolve it.

Thank you
