Why would anyone care weather someone is outside watching TV? Hell, we even get out our little gas fireplace to keep warm when we are watching tv outside. It is kind of like going to the Drive in. Some times it is just nice to be outside even if you are watching TV.
Besides , I would hardly call this RV life "camping" . If I was up in the northwoods roughing it in a tent and traveling by foot or canoe then I would probably object to a TV, radio or other intrusions on the natural setting.

I've often wondered how many people have the outside tv and don't use them. One time we saw a group of kids outside at night watching a movie and they were wrapped in blankets. It was cute like a slumber party in the 2000's. I can't imagine sitting outside and watching tv but maybe that's because we never had one outside.

We have one, never have used it and then fried it with a bad electrical connection. We were going to just remove the old one and use the space for storage until my step-daughter decided that the MH would be great for LSU tailgating parties and we could all watch the game without going into the stadium. That is when DH decided that we will replace the TV.

I am drinking Community Coffee and Chickory at the moment, can not start or finish a day without it and like American Express, can't leave home without it. I tote it with us wherever we go, even to Europe. I feel sorry for people who have to drink what we call 'North Dakota coffee' - the see-thru, tasteless stuff. Gawd awful and a sin to call it coffee. No offense to the wonderful folks in ND, one of my all-time favorite places to visit, it is just that the worst coffee I was ever served was in ND so now all bad coffee is 'ND coffee'.
Bruce Brown wrote: Our outside TV gets used more than the inside TV. We are aware of our neighbors and surrounding, and use it responsibly, but at many events/trips (usually at the races or when a popular race is on) a party breaks out under our awning - and I wouldn't want it any other way.
That's what I'm talkin' about! If I wanted to sit inside and watch TV, I'd stay home.

Smart girl! I'll catch a few games a season (the big ones) but you can usually find me at the RV watching it with the crew. Food, drinks, music, friends and some good football on the LCD, that's where the fun is.
I don't have a TV outside, and I'm not sure how practical it would be. If you are bothering to use a big screen, you need to be in the movie, which means full surround sound and turned up fairly loud - too loud to play it out doors without disturbing others.
However I do sort of understand. I often take the computer outdoors and sit and do email or surf the net. Its just more relaxing. Cool breeze, faint sounds and smells in the background. Even though I'm focused on what I'm looking at, I'm very aware of my surroundings.
There are some who need to differentiate between technology and nature. When one is reared in a technical world, technology is just one of many tools that together make up the total experience.
Watched the super bowl outside on the TV, cooking brats and visiting with the neighbors.......I love to cook outside and either the radio or TV are on when I do it....I guess I just don't see a problem with it at all. When your traveling for 8 weeks or more as we do in the winter we want to spend as much time outside as we can, sometimes we read, sometimes I sleep, and sometimes I just turn on the tube.

Quote: The rig we just bot, has 4 LCD TVs 3 inside, 1 outside. I love it. I can be working on something on the picnic table and watch the TV, just like I do at home. And, after all, my RV is my home for 6-7 months/year. P.S. I do, at times, use wireless headphones so I don't bother the neighbors. Robbie
Robbie I hate to ask but is one of them in the Bathroom??
I have seen newer ones with 2 up front in class C's, one for the living area and 5 feet away one for the drop down bunk.
I think the Daymon Daybreak bunkster has one for the back bed and one just outside the bedroom area for the bunks, now how can they watch two different channels?
Ha, good one!! I wish it were. No, We have a 26" over the dash, a 40" in the "living room, and a 26" in the bedroom, and last, but not least, a 19" on the outside. Robbie
