Since there is not a tremendous difference in price between the above two combos, which would you choose based on personal experience. I will be able to parallel both combos and the power advantage clearly goes to the Yamaha. On my Cedar Creek Fifth wheel what will 4000 watts of continuous power get me that 3200 will not from the Honda as far as appliances are concerned.

I'd like to order today so any input would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Never dealt with the Yamaha gensets, but I know a guy that runs the Honda 2000's wired together, and he loves it. Runs the A/C and microwave while the TV is on, so it seems to be more than enough, he has a single A/C HiLo, but the load should be similar if you have one A/C unit. Plus when he only needs one, he runs one. It's working great for him.

I don't get lost, I investigate alternative destinations.

I think run time would be ther determing factor for me, along with weight. I think unless you use an external tank, the honda only has a run time of 5 to 6 hours. I dont know about the Yamaha. Both are good generators and will give you years of service.

Paralleled Yamaha's are pretty rare in the RV world so I don't think you'll get much feedback on that setup. With a 30-amp RV the dual eu2000i setup provides almost as much power as you're able to use, so there's no logical reason to wrestle with the heavier Yamahas. (The eu2000i is rated for 2000 watts for 30 minutes). And I get the impression that most users of the single Yamaha 2400s get along with them just fine, while many users of the eu2000i don't have quite enough power and spring for a second one.

Those who own Hondas - say buy Hondas. Very loyal customers who muat be satified to recommend them. Yamaha owners are a little more circumspect in their approach but I agree with SKnight when he implies, the (corporate) Yamaha people in Orange County, Ca. are terrible to deal with. In fact, I've found them to be simply - rotten. Both Yamis and Hondas are great products and you can't go wrong with either,as opposed to buying those disposable Chinese gens. I own both and, for my purposes, prefer the Yami but would never buy another. Had to fight for 8 months for waranty satisfaction on a minor item. Life's too short. But you have to evaluate and judge for yourself.

As you get older, the lighter Hondas will be easier on your back.

Another issue is an extended fuel tank. With the Hondas there is a vacuum which will draw fuel from an external tank no matter what the height. Yamaha depends on gravity feed so any external tank for extended running would have to be above the existing fuel tanks.

Wisesales.com now has an extended run tank which is designed to fit any generator.
