Okay... I googled it... and found as many saying it is as reliable as
any other. What I asked was not for "google" links.. but to hear from
those with personal experience. But the dealer is unwilling to come
down from the $19.9K asking price.. So I will move on to a nice Dodge I
have found.
Thanks to all.

It appears that my last post was taken as rude by one member of the
forum here. I want to apologize if my comments were taken that way by
anyone here. I am looking for real world answers from people here. I
truly do appreciate the knowledge of fellow RVers and like to be an
informed shopper.
Again, my apologies if the post was taken as being rude.

Funny how people are brand loyal and go by what others have said about the other brands. We own a Ford diesel and no problems as of yet. Brother is a mechanic and he works on all models and even he said that its how its driven, taken care of, and how its used that will usually determine how a vehicle runs. We all agree that all makes and models have lemons so do some homework and get what you want. JMHO

When my DW saw the new Cougar she new it was the one for her. We are pulling it with an 08 Silverado diesel. This is my first experience with any RV, so I have more questions than answers, but after one trip to the local KOA, we love it. She absolutely fell in love with the floor plan. Being newbies, we parked in our campground space, pushed the buttons to open the slides without checking the bsttery and immediately blew a fuse. Other than that, no problems.

We have the Ford 6.0 haven't had one problem with it. I would seriously rethink the thought of going with a Dodge. Which truck has been rated #1 for years after years? The answer should tell you which one you should go with. Good luck with your decision.

It's interesting that you also blew a slide fuse. We also blew one in ours. The batteries were charged and I was only operating one slide. It's the only problem we've had and it's only happened once. We use the trailer just about every weekend. Other than that we love the trailer.

Hi All!
We too blew a fuse the first time out with our new Sundance XLT 5er....it must be something for all newbies to experience!
We also wanted to let others know how happy we are with our extra light rig....it is a Heartland Sundance xlt and it is 28.5 feet long and weighs in at only 6600 lbs dry....we love it. We tow it with our Ford (yep and it is a gasser too...hehehe), V10, 4x4, crew cab and it does a fantastic job towing that Sundance.

I have the 6.0 and love mine. Granted I only have 51k on it but trouble free so far. Love the Tow Comand system (tow haul and built in break controller). I get 14 to 16 mpg local-not towing and 17-19 on the road not towing. Towing the rig in my sig. I get between 10 and 12 depending on conditions. I have not made any mods.to the truck. You might want to consider an ext. warrenty if you buy used. Good luck in your choice.

I get exactly the same mileage on my 07 as oltroll. So far, I haven't had any problems. I guess we must be the exceptions.
