I have a 4 year old Class A and have been have some recent problems with my steps. On occassion they will not come down. I checked the ground and wiring and things seem OK. I am suspecting that since I don't use my RV much and it is not plugged in to shore power regularly, the coach batteries get below a certain level and does not have enought "juice" to power the steps down. Does anyone have any ideas for me??

Most coachs have a magnetic sensor, like in a bugular alarm mounted on the bottom of the screen door and s sensor mounted on the frame. Make sure these are in alignment or you can get sporadice operation of the steps. Just something to check Bill

I was having trouble with mine at one time....
Some time it would not come down and some time it would not go up...
I had to take apart the linkage (rods and pivots between the motor and step) clean and greese all the moving parts and that fixed mine.
Just somthing else to try.

When's the last time you lubed them? Check your books or the internet and you'll be VERY surprised at how often that chore must be done.

Low voltage will affect the steps operation.
