Just saw another post requesting info on campgrounds with clean bathrooms. I have no idea what kind of rig the person had but it reminded me of something I have always wanted to know. I understand why tenters and those with pop-ups need clean bathrooms but why is it so necessary to the rest of us RVers? Our unit came with a bathroom; we paid for it; it is always clean; and no one else has ever used it. Why wouldn't we use it every chance we get? The water pressure in the shower is not always the greatest but if it becomes a problem, we just run the pump. I guess I just don't understand why so many RVers won't use their own bathrooms. It always amazes me to see huge RVs parked right next to the restrooms while those without indoor plumbing get stuck miles away.
We are fairly new to RV so maybe I'm missing something?

Our family is in the habit of using the CG restrooms if they are close from all the times we stay in state CG without sewers on site. DH doesn't like the hassle of dumping as often in these situations. Also for camper harmony doing your business in the restrooms gives everyone breathing room! LOL It really depends on the individual CG. This last trip most of the restrooms were further away so we used the camper more. Showers are always a little nicer in the CG. You get more room, hotter and better water pressure. Also, the kids don't get our camper bathroom floor as wet. That just my thoughts.

My two teenage daughters like to take 20 minutes showers. Anytime we are camping they use the facilities as a " Navy" shower is not enough time for them. Having 5 people trying to take showers off a 6 gallon water heater takes a long time also. Having nice, clean facilities is a must for us.

Honestly, I don't get it... its right up there with the nut cases who wait till its so dang hot you cant breath before they turn on the AC...all you can do is shake your head in wonderment...almost as tho some folks just aren't happy if they have too many conveniences...

Where we are now, they have signs at the showers saying NO Pets. I appreciate that, but still use our RV shower

If we are going to be in a campground without sewer hookup for more than a couple of days, I will use the campground shower (if it is clean) so as to not fill up the gray tank so soon. If we have sewer hookup, I always use our camper.
I always use our toilet.
DW doesn't venture into the campground bathrooms at all.

I also use the camp ground restrooms. One main reason is if I'm setting there eating a sandwich I don't want someone dropping the kids off at the pool 2 feet from me. We only use the toilet in camper for emergencies if we are close to CG bathrooms.
