That would be nice. But Pembroke is where I get on the Thruway when going East, so I fill up there and don't need fuel anymore 'till I get well out of the state.
I've often thought that having one Westbound would be nice, as Pembroke is a backtrack for me going West. But it's not too far to PA where fuel is cheaper anyway, and the Camping World at Hamburg has a dump station and propane when that function is necessary.
I wouldn't mind having more FJ's in the state, but I'm happy that we have the one we do, and that it's where it is.

FJ is issueing their own card to control costs charged by Visa and Mastercard. Mastercard gives them a back door discount when you use the card. they save and you get a 1 cent discount.
That is why almost all large retailers are pushing their own card, they save money and accually make money on the back door discounts.
Cabela's and Gander Mountain have been doing it for years.

Not really, you missed including the "except" word in your previous post.
Thank you for the clarification, that's what I thought you were saying. I just wanted to make sure, becuase you know what happens when you assume!
The last thing I need is another credit card. But in this case, it might make sense. Many years ago I used to carry a stack of gas station credit cards. Then they started to universally accept MC/Visa, and it didn't make sense to carry all those cards and manage all those accounts. I guess we're getting back to that stage again... Oh well.
I cut up lots more credit cards sent me "free" than Ive ever actually kept...but this one will go into my long book...to only be used at FJ for fuel..etc..and not for any other sort of purchase...so its no biggie to me to get it

I can see some VERY VERY long lines at the RV pumps. The cops will no doubt have something to say to Flying-J about that.

Do they have signs posted? The FJ web site does not say anything about it and If I am traveling thru AZ I don't know it so what happens if I use the rv islands.
Yep, every pump in the RV lanes contains a warning from the state about their screwy tax structure. I may not have seen every Arizona pump, but I bet I've seen more than half. Check the difference in diesel prices between these two sites. Thats the tax.

I love Flying J. If you don't, then use another gas station.
Good grief.
Try pulling into TA or Pilot or some local gas station instead. Have fun if you're pulling a toad.
Basically, I agree, although I would go so far as to say I love Flying J.
The RV islands at some Flying J's are a bit tight, and can be made more so by some inconsiderate jerk obstructing the exit area with his car. But, I've seen much worse at some of Flying J's competitors.
As for Flying J's Reward program having some hiccups or complications . . . at least they have a program for RVers. I'm not aware of any of the competitors that are willing to give me a discount. Plus Flying J prices are as competitive as any AND you can check their price on the Internet any time. That's far more transparent and consumer friendly than just about anyone. Try calling any one else to get today's fuel price.

Must depend upon which ones you frequent. All of our experiences at the J's have been great and the the trucker's friendly. Of course our travels have been limited to AZ, NV, CA & OR and we go to the truck lanes.
Never had an issue -- yes, some are cleaner than others but by and large they seem to be heads-and-shoulders better than any of the other truck stops that we've been to in these same areas.
We just run our rewards card at the pump and that gets us the cash/non-commercial price. We (actually the DW) goes inside to pay by CC and get the receipt.

Is this true?...so are they as slow as the regular car pumps? If so, wouldn't that take a long time to fill up your MH?
And I'm hearing about narrow lanes and people dumping their tanks. When we stop for gas we get in and get out...and I don't want to be in a place that is narrow/tight. I've read people talking about how exiting is a little "challenging"...is this usually true?
The truck lanes just seem a lot easier...?

I have pulled my 42 footer into most Js with out an issue.I go where it is fastest and sometimes that is the rv pumps other times it is the truck side.

Sully, what you and everyone else is missing, is that with the Flying J CC you also get cash back on ALL purchases, in the form of Flying J bucks, to spend on food or anything else in the store including a fuel purchase. Right now we have over $100 in Flying J bucks setting in our console to use when we start back east in Sept. When you spend $10 of their money(Flying J bucks) in the store then you get a larger discount and the more you spend, the larger the discount, so it is a win-win situation for all.

I personally didnt miss that point..I just didnt say anything about it. I buy so little at FJ other than fuel..the additional discounts dont matter to me..personally
