Have had 4 sets of the BFG A/T TA's both pre KO and KO. The pre KO got a little better traction in the dirt and snow. Both generations got very good mileage w/even wear. I am not anal about inflation either -check it regularly but not weekly like some do. Rotations were done but not on aggressive mileage points. Putting a set of LT265/75R16 LR E on my 2006 Chevy 2500HD this week. Discount Tire / Americas Tire offers a 50,000 in a max 6 year lifetime tread life warranty on these puppies too.....
Not much experience with the Toyo -except riding buddy has a set on his truck camper set-up and is happy -this is not a daily driver vehicle though. It is a 94 ford 4wd - to get even tread wear he must rotate on an aggressive mileage interval ......even though the front end is tight and in good condition mechanically.
Both tires are a good product -just depends on dealer convenience and $$ cost out the door.

I have Toyos on my F250 diesel crew cab and got over 80,000 miles out of them before I replaced them with a new set. I run an LT325/65R18 which are big and wide and two of the new ones I installed were perfectly balanced as soon as they were mounted to my wheels (No wheel weights)
After I blew out a tire on my WW FS2300 I replaced all of the tires on my toy hauler with Toyo's also. The tire I use on it are Toyo M53 HyparRadial ST 700R15LT load range D They have been great and no worries about blowouts now.

Have run BFG A/T's for years, love them. I had over 40,000 miles on some 31"s that were on my old ranger before I sold it. Even wear and stil had 1/2 tread. Of cousre that is a lighter vehicle but they took a beating, lots of air down/air up cycles. When My Super Duty needs tires they will be BFG's.

I've never had a real problem with the BFG's but the Toyo's are definitely better IMO. The best tires I've ever had though were the Bridgestone REVO's. I made the mistake of replacing them with a Pirelli model I have now. They are fine for everyday use but are squirrely when pulling the toy hauler and have been wearing quickly. I'll be getting new tires before desert season starts and will either get E rated Toyo's or the REVO'....whichever I can get a better deal on.

I've always run BFG's and always will! They have always had excellent tread life and very even wear on any vehicle I've had them on.
I just put 285/16 E-rated A/T's on my F250 and love them! Pulls very stable, low road noise when not towing, haven't needed to air down, and pulls through just fine.
I do like the Toyo and Nitto's, but for the years of development BFG has into these tires and the awesome experience I've always had, I will always support BFG.
Also, I'm very involved in professional desert off-road racing and have always worked for BFG-supported teams. I feel it's important to support and be loyal to those who have supported the sport and teams I'm apart of. Toyo and Nitto have increased their race support presence in the past few years, and I applaud and welcome their efforts, but BFG has been in the sport consistently, not to mention, the leader, for over 20 years.

I came down to these 2 brands as choices last fall as well. I was looking for the heaviest load rating I could find for the best price. I ended up going with the BFG in the 285/16 E rated at 3750 lbs each. I watched for an on-line sale at 4 Wheel Parts where I got free shipping to their store and ended up having them installing them with roads hazard, lifetime balance and rotation-blah, blah, blah. I think it was about $250 less than the Toyos from Les Schwab. I wanna say about $900 or $950 OTD Grand Total.
Overall, I've been pleased so far. I run fully loaded at almost 7000 lbs on the rear axle. I will see what kind of miles I can get out of them. The ride is much improved over the OEM's. I was a little concerned that the M-55's would ride too rough with that super rigid and thick sidewall and too loud with that more aggressive tread pattern.
