I'm getting ready to order a Cedar Creek Silverback 36L5S fifth wheel and two of the options are for a Trail Air 15,500 lb air ride hitch coupler and a Trail Air center point air ride suspension system.

I"ve never owned or towed a fifth wheel. Mine up until now have always been bumper pull. I know most people don't have either of these two items but I"m factory ordering this unit to live in for two years then we'll have it to go traveling in when I'm finished with my job. We're planning on keeping the trailer for ten plus years, as long as it holds up then upgrade to a motorhome closer to retirement time. Would this make all the difference in towing? Should I get both systems, none or one or the other? I"ve read a little about it on thier website but does any one here have any practical experience with it? Thanks, Wes

You won't get it any cheaper so if you can go for it. Air products makes for a much smoother drive and your new fifth will last longer because you are so smart buying air stuff.
Air hitch and trailair center point suspension on our 01 alpenlite. One smooth deal.

This is my first 5'er
I ordered the air ride hitch coupler with my 5'er.
I can not imagine what it would be like without it.
I wish I had ordered the package (air ride hitch coupler and a Trail Air center point air ride suspension system) as it was a lot cheaper when ordering it with the new rig than adding it now.
My last rig was a Endura Super C Things were always falling and breaking when going down the road. in the new 5'er I forgot to lay my 20 LCD TV on the bed one trip it was still standing on the counter 100 miles later. i do not have any experience without the hitch but the experience with it is positive.

We have the trail-air suspension on our 5er, but not the hitch. I can't really tell a difference in how the trailer is cushioned from the driver seat of my truck, but I can say things stay in place a lot better with this trailer than our last.

I had both on our Elite Suites and I'll never have the Center Point again. I had a bag go in less than a year from new so the RV dealer called them and they would cover nothing but replace the bag. I never had a flat on my rig or anything else to cause damage to the bag. No labor or anything else. Then on top of it they were going to ship it by ground, it would have taken about 5 to 7 days business days to get here. We were living in our 5er and I had to pay overnight myself to get it so we could have our unit back the next day. It cost almost as much for the overnight as the price of the bag The dealership that was working on it was not the selliing dealer.

This is IMO

i have the trair air hitch and shocks. the difference between my setup and fixed pinbox/no shocks is night and day. i can only imagine the trailair susp is only that much better. get it-you wont be sorry.

Get the air pin box. but do not get the centerpoint suspension. If you go onto the trailair web site they now have a equal torque suspension that is only about 250 dollars for the pair. Much cheaper and probably a better product in the long run.

I ordered mine with the trailair kingpin and centerpoint suspension. The trailer is now three years old and still pulls like a champ. We rarely have anything fall in the floor unless we really hit some potholes.
I did once readjust the amount of air in both after replacing the 8 ply tires with 10 ply, but once I got it right, we were back to smooth sailing.
I wouldn't have another fiver without them.
