I almost bought a Pulse today. On Saturday, my second visit, at 84 degrees, the air cond could not cool the unit in direct sunlight. Same thing a few weeks ago when it had run for 2 hours before i arrived it was probably 80 in the unit and blowing cold air. Salesman says due to less insulation than heavier MH. ????

Well 84* is not all that hot, and I doubt the heavy insulation thing. Just how cool did it make the inside and how long did it take. Do you know how many BTUs/hr the AC unit is rated for, how long is the coach, and is the AC a ducted system?

Well, This is a 25' fleetwood pulse. It has the upgraded air cond. The system was on for 30 min the second time and 2 hours the first. It was not something you would want to be in with any 85 let alone 100 degree weather. I am thinking it is this unit. It was check and said to be great but i feel i will check other units.

Where the ceiling vents, if ducted, screwed in the open positions? Someone may have closed the vents. I would check the vents, and also see where the thermostat temperature was set. At 70 degee setting, the motor-home should get comfortable within a half hour. It would be nice if there were a similar model to check out. Otherwise I would ask dealer to get it working properly. If no improvement stay away from that model. My Fleetwood Jamboree works just fine in 95+ degree weather.

All vents were open. Thermo was below 75 and temp inside was over 80.
I am going to check another unit. thank you!

I agree with checking a 2nd unit. I haven't done a good real-world test of my air conditioner other than to see that it blows a lot of cold air. There could have been a build error on the unit you looked at. For example my heat pump didn't work from the factory because they installed the wrong thermostat, and on another person's unit the furnace didn't work too well because they forgot to put one of the vents in. In both cases, the people at the dealer were pretty much clueless about it.

Very few MH air conditioners have a high enough BTU rating to quickly recover from a fully HEAT SOAKED interior environment. If it isn't turned on before the heat level of the day rises then it might NEVER catch up.

We rented a 31' lowend MH and stayed at the beach in 90 degree weather, full sun and it cooled great. I am headed to try the other unit. Anyone with a pulse or Icon or View that had experience in heat with aircond please let me know if it can keep the unit cool. Lots of heat comes from the cab but that can be fixed with window shades.
