I've got a shower problem I cannot figure out. If I turn on the Hot water valve in the shower, nothing happens. No water comes out the head. If I turn off the Hot, and turn on the Cold, cold water comes out the shower head at a normal flow rate. Then, if I leave the Cold valve on, and open the Hot valve, I will now get some hot water flow along with the cold. If I then turn off the Cold valve, the hot will flow, though at a significantly reduced rate from what the cold flows, and sometimes will stop altogether. Sometimes I cannot get the hot to flow at all, even with the Cold valve open.
It's always done this to some extent, but seems to be getting worse. Had to take cold showers last week!!
All of this is working off the onboard tank and pump, but it doesn't seem like a pump problem to me since the Cold side works just fine. Any thoughts or things to check on?
btw, all other faucets in the trailer work just fine with Hot or Cold water, including the exterior shower.
Sounds like a shower faucet problem to me. I would try to replace the valve seat if possible, if not the whole faucet.

Your problem is very likely in the faucet itself. You didn't say, but I assume you have good hot water flow from other faucets eliminating things like malfunctioning back flow check valve on the water heater itself. You weren't specific about the type of faucet but I assume from what you said, you have individual hot and cold water valves, not a mixing valve. If this is the case, faucets are inexpensive and a simple frustration free fix would be to replace the faucet. Otherwise, I'd take it apart to diagnose the problem.

Yes, the hot works fine everywhere else, and it is the typical dual handle plastic RV shower faucet. I'll pull the faucet today and see what I can find.
problem fixed, it was indeed the faucet itself. The seat on the hot side had come apart (it's a cheapo little plastic snap fit type deal) and was not being pulled back when the handle was turned. I guess sometimes the water would push through a little bit, but not always. I feel a bit silly that it was such an obvious and simple fix, but glad it's fixed!
