Last week I had a valve stem blow out almost in the middle of nowhere. Fortunately I had a cell phone signal and was able to get road service to put the spare on.
We will be going on an extended trip in another month that will take us through many areas with no phone coverage, etc. I want to have a jack with me in the event there is a tire problem where we can't find help.
My question is, what type and size (5 ton, 7 ton, etc.) of jack would you recommend? I have a 30' Class C, 14050 GVWR.
Incidentally, I had all of the valve stems changed yesterday and the tech advised me that they were all of "car" quality and he was able to pull two of them out with his hands!!!

I carry a 6 ton bottle jack for my 26 foot. It is in a plastic case with the handles, small enough for storage but enough capacity to lift the entire front or back end at one time.

I understand your desire/need for a jack but do you think you will be able to get the lug nuts off or torqued correctly when put back on? I understand the torque value is quite high.

They should not allow rubber valve stems to be installed on anything other than a car. All my MH have had the metal ones on as it should be.
As for a jack I do not carry one anymore. Have ERS.

Check out Harbor Freight if you have one near where you live.
I was there recently and they had 12 ton bottle jacks for $ 19.99
and Drive breaker bars 1/2" drive x 25" long $ 9.99 OR a 3/4" drive x 24-1/2" $ 17.98
Harbor Freight seems to have decent prices on tools for the Non-Professional that does not need a tool to last a long time in daily use.

Carry a 12 ton bottle jack made in the US. Was considerably more than $20. I wouldn't trust life, limb or rig to a cheap Chinese jack. Wheel torque on an E-450 is only 140 ft/lbs a 2-3' breaker bar will accomplish this easily.
