Earlier this year I bought a car that had been sitting with a full tank of fuel for four years. It started up and I got 26 mpg on that tank. Now, 7,500 miles later, the car runs great and averages 28 mpg.

Much of that can have to do with the type of gas tank and how well it is sealed. The fact that the tank was full helped as well.
Just be careful if you decide to see if it burns. Gasoline has vapors that you can't see and it will follow YOU...so when you strike the match...poof...it lights, but it also lights the fumes that can surround you. Just had a friend throw some gas on a pile of stuff he wanted to burn...forgot about the fume thing...it went "woosh" and sent fire at him...luckily not around him. It singed his eyebrows, burned one side of his face...2nd degree burns on his arm...and when he fell backwards from the sheer shock of it all...broke his elbow...so gasoline is not something you want to really just go out and "burn"...without really giving it some good thought!
