Just received a call from a place soliciting business. They wanted to know if I needed immigration services.
I'm on the national do not call list - should I report them?
What say you?
I hate getting these type of calls and am toying with reporting them to the FCC. I got their business name, name of person I spoke with and the phone number.

Actually it's the FTC.
I always report them. Not that many enforcement actions are done, but the more are reported, the more likely to hit them with a fine.

By all means report them. If you have caller ID include it's reading in the report (there are palces to do that)
You might wind up putting a company out of business.. Normally a bad thing but when it comes to boiler rooms.. a very good thing.
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

Just as I thought. I did get the name of the person I talked to and the company name and since I have caller id - the phone number. I was then able to do a reverse lookup on the net and get an address. The personal name matches the name on the caller id of the address that was brought up - no, the company name was not on the caller id but a person's name - which I think is one of the no-no's if i'm not mistaken. I think it has to show the company name when it's a company calling if I remember correctly.
Anyway....I reported them.
Quote: Actually it's the FTC.
FTC stands for Federal Trade Commission. They run the Do Not Call list but the FCC handles junk fax and telemarketer complaints from what I can gather.
It gets reported to the FCC - the Federal Communications Commission.
If you type in Do not call reporting - it will take you to the FCC website where you click on a link for the email reporting form you fill out.

I definitely report them. I always first ask them the name of their company, then ask them to remove our name from their call list. If they don't remove us, I report them. If they refuse to give their name (required to) and hang up, I report their phone number from ID.
If we don't, how will it ever slow down? (end? HA!)
I've noticed more and more are calling the cell phone - again, illegal.

I put my cell number on the do not call list as well. It helped as I was getting some calls. I no longer get them on that number.

Everybody that calls my numbers is reported.
The new reporting format allows you to make a statement too.
Yesterday the guy refused to ID his company at all, but he caller ID worked so I reported them.
They called my cell phone no less.
And here is the site to nail them at~

I got one of those calls today. I have caller ID on my phone and all it showed for the caller's number was "Restricted". They block their number so you CAN'T report them. I have turned some in by name only, but you have to listen to their recording for a long time before they ID. I just hang up.
