Interesting havedreamwilltravel
It looks like you can report to the FCC or the FTC's do not call website
You could always do both

There is also another report you could make that is possibly profitable to you. If they call you repeatedly you should report them to your state's Attorney General's office or whatever they call it in your state. Save their information on your caller ID and keep a record of who you told to not call you again. Some states will file a lawsuit on your behalf against the telemarketer and if they win in court you get the money or a percentage of it. Just remember that charities, political entities and companies you do business with such as department stores that you have a credit card with are exempt from the do not call restrictions.

I have turned some in by name only, but you have to listen to their recording for a long time before they ID. I just hang up.

When I get one that's restricted I will answer the call and get the phone # to call them back as if I am interested.
It you don't know, it's also illegal for solicitors to have blocked caller IDs. I make sure they get reported even if I have to bait them.

I would not bother with the FCC at all. I have been involved with them for years and they are slow to do anything if they act at all.

It is also illegal to have a recorded message played. The rules state that a human must be on the phone when the callee answers.
Had a local property management company repeatedly call us from a "For Rent" sign we had in one of our houses. Called the woman then read and explained the apprporoiate section to her. Then followed up with a report to the Do Not Call List. Never heard from her again.

I'll do you one better. Under the Telecommunications Consumer Protection Law, they are obligated to pay YOU $500 each time they call you after you've told them to place you on their "do not call" list.
I did it in December of 1996. Owed $1000 from Novus & Discover Card. They called me once in July, then two repeats in December after I was on their "no call" list.
Went to small claims court (in Baltimore at that time) and paid my $18.00 filing fee. Before new years day I was talking with the NOVUS lawyer and settled out of court for $500. Got the check in 3 days after I signed the documents. Entire process took just under 4 weeks.
