I bathed a cat.... once.

I will add that to the list along with licking electrical outlets, milk drinking contests, and saying "hey ya'll watch this" before I do a trick.

I'll never get all the fur off my tongue....

Years ago I found a little kitten, meowing outside my door. He was filthy, all black with dirt and very skinny from hunger.

I bathed him, fed him and gave him a good home for many year. But I will say, he didn't mind the 1st bath, probably too worn out to fight, but when I tried a 2nd one.... that was the last.

Took our kittens swimming with me yesterday. They swim quite well. Hope to get them used to the water. If you are allergic to cats, bathing them will help you.

I had a mutt cat I hand raised. He would jump in the tub with me and splash around. Loved water!
Now the Persian show cats. Some were fine others it was a battle.
I had one I bought, bathed him every week for months, and one day discovered his wet tail. He bit down on me, up and over my back and ripped me open. My DH couldn't believe the blood bath. From that day forth I had to cover his tail until it was dried.
I will not for any amount of money ever groom cats.

My wife had a persian. Tried many times to give it a bath. I said let me do it! I held it by the back of the head and the base of the tail. I eased him into the water and he started his fit! After he found out he was not going to win he was fine.
I told her I could teach it to go for walks with us on a leash. She said this I got to see! I took about 20 feet of masonary line tied it to his collar and watch the show. I gave him about 3 feet and he knew something was wrong. He tugged at the end and then I let it go slack. When he took off, reached the 20 foot mark It looked like a kangeroo jumping everwhere. He fought hard the first couple days and then he started walking with me. My wife could not believe it.

Major1,
I will have to try this. We have tried to get Nino to walk on leash. He will walk from the truck to the trailer and from trailer to truck. Also from the house to the trailer, but no where else. He will just sit down and be stubborn. He does drag pretty good. "just kidding" We would never do that.

Oh yes it does take both of us to give him a bath. DH holds him by back of neck and I soap and rinse him. Cat howls the whole time

Man I am hurting from laughing so hard

however there is a trick to giving a cat a bath.. don't fill the tub,,just enough to reach their belly,, then put a towel or no slip mat in the bottom.. Now grab cat by the back of neck and inset into the water,, and hold him down.. He will relax once he realizes he can stand up.. The hard part is drying him off!!! A towel helps as does a locked bathroom door... ps.. have 911 on speed dial , just in case.
