Well, well, I previously posted that I liked the Winnebago View and when I went to the dealer to put my downpayment into the mix, the View was sold. So off we went to continue our search
NOW we are looking at a09 Holiday Rambler Altantis 130. The surprise on this one is that it got the Ford E450 DIESEL CHASSIS and got the 6.0L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel. WOW am I surprised at that and on the first thought ....I WANT THAT.....
So what do you guys have to say about this one. I don't know much about Holiday Rambler Class C but I surely like that Power Stroke Diesel. What kind of a mileage could I get?

The 6.0L Ford diesel engine came out mid 2003. It appeared in the Lazy Daze in 2005. That is the last year it was offered because Ford had allot of trouble with many aspects of the engine. Presentlt there is a 2005 Lazy Daze in Seaside, NJ for sale. It will never sell due to it having a 6.0L ongine. The 6.8L V-10 Ford is Much mor reliable. Just search the web for problems with that engine. Incidently International makes the 6.0L for Ford. Ford tried sueing them for al the problems they were having. I looked into it because I was considering the 2005 Lazy Daze but not now.

FWIW, for a summary of gas vs. diesel thoughts for E-450s, see FAQ: Gas vs. Diesel
My best guess for fuel efficiency is 10-14 mpg vs. 7-10 mpg for gas.

I am looking at a BRAND NEW 2009 Holiday Rambler Class C. All RV dealers I am looking at are telling that there is no RV Manufacturer out there making a Class C Diesel, but there it is. It is also posted on the Holiday Ramber web page.

Gonzo71: We have an Itasca Navion IQ diesel. Isn't that a Class C?

One more vote for leaving that 6.0 liter diesel there. Nothing but problems. The prior 7.3 liter power stroke was a bullet proof diesel. I would much prefer the V10 over either now with the price of diesel fuel.
