Have you typed out and lost the post due to the site crashing when you hit "send"? I'm out of my mind after typing and thinking for 15 minutes and it goes, "poof". I'm okay, just venting!

It's a little less frustrating if you type everything in Word or whatever word processing program you use. Then copy and paste it into rv.net. If rv.net malfunctions, you still have the document in your word processing document.

I keep trying to remember to do that too.
"Wordpad" is quicker than "Word" (or Open Office) to open and load on my computer if someone wants to go that route. Just right click on your desktop, hover over "new", and then click "Wordpad Document". On my slow dialup connection I have 3 cascaded windows open all the time so sites can be loading while I read. I keep an empty corner to open new worpad docs for saving recipes and "stuff". That way I don't have to minimize if I want a new document.

It is absolutely ridiculous that you have to employ strategies to keep from losing your info because you know IT IS GOING TO CRASH EVERY FEW MINUTES. It is plain stupid and Affinity ought to be ashamed of themselves. My strategy is to spend less and less time here and more at sites that operate correctly. The site is unreliable, it gets worse after every upgrade, spell check is no longer working, the blocking feature is wacked, you get crazy flashing boxes when scrolling over subject lines sometimes, it crashes every few minutes and the great advice we get from the insiders and Affinity apologists is just try another portal, your so lucky to have this great forum. Oh I almost forgot, I better copy this before I hit the button. What a joke this site is.

Yep, I too have been burned too many times. Before I send a post, I highlight it, then do a copy (Ctl.-C) just in case. You just gotta do what you gotta do.

most of the time, I use my outlook email program to create a new message and spell check it,, Then I copy and past it over, just in case like you said, the site crashes.. IT happens too often.. not just here.. But you can't trust this site to not lose your post..

Go to Archives and try to find more than one. I have been trying to get an answer to what happened? So I don't bother anymore.

If you hit Control + A, it will highlight everything and THEN you can hit Control + C to copy it. I try to do it all the time, too. However, I've found that using Firefox as a browser instead of IE, I can hit the BACK button and it will still be there, unlike with IE! WOW! That was COOL the first time I found that out!
I've also found that entering through Trailer Life is more reliable than entering through RV.Net. For the last two days when I tried through RV.Net, I got a message that the "forums will be down for maintenance" but it works just fine through Trailer Life.
