I turned on my air yesterday for the first time since our last trip, about a month ago, and had severe vibration. I took off the cover and checked the fan to see if it wasd loose and it was not. I pushed down, ever so slightly, on the A/C tray or housing, whichever you choose to call it, and the vibration stopped. I then went inside and took the face plate off the controller and saw where you could tighten the roof unit. Tightened the bolts and eliminated most of the vibration.

I am still getting some vibration when the fan is on Med. or high. I am thinking of using some anti-vibration squares between the roof and the tray to eliminate any vibration.

Anybody have any thoughts or comments?

Look on the inside radius of the fan blade and make sure you don't have any dirt dobber nests that could be throwing it out of balance.

Good tip. I would think I would have noticed that when I had the cover off but maybe not. I will check again.

Anybody else?

Probably not a cause for vibration, but while you're under the cover, check to see if you have a couple of oil ports on your motor shaft. They require periodic drops of oil.

It would not take a very large dirt daubber nest to throw the blade out of balance. Darn those little critters.

Take the fan off and look again. I had this same thing happen a few months back. The nest was located where I could not see it while it was in the unit.

On the fan itself. Mine was located where I could not see the nest while the fan was in the AC housing. I thought I could see the whole thing, but I was wrong. It was well hidden. May not be your problem after all but that was my experience. Good luck on finding the problem. I know how aggravating it is.
