I want to install a bike rack on my 2006 1207 jayco PUP
I was looking at 2 options....1) weld a trailer hitch receiver to my rear bumper and attach the bike rack
2) buy a 2 in 1 hitch adapter and carry the bikes on the rack off the back of my truck. (between the tailer and my truck)
What do you think will work the best?

We had two bikes on a custom receiver on the rear of our Pop Up. It was a bad idea for many reasons.
The best place for bikes is spread evenly on top of the Pop Up or inside the rear of the Mini Van. In the back of a truck works too.

The rear bumper on the PUP isn't very strong. I'd go between, no question.

I had a 2" receiver and added support welded on the rear of my 2001 Santa Fe - I used it for a cargo carrier and found out early in a 550 mile trip I should have distributed the weight a little better. The first rest stop I made, I placed a cooler in the PUP and that added weight stopped my sway.
I see no problem with the 2" receiver - just make sure it has been strengthened, not just welded to the existing bumper.

We bought the dual-hitch receiver. The bike rack we have reclines, so we don't have any problem raising the back liftgate when everything is hooked up. Our Durango handled the extra weight just fine, and there was no difference in how the popup pulled/handled.
It works great for us!

I have your PUP and I have a bike rack that simply bolts (tighten by hand) around the hitch bar on the TV. I purposely wanted that type of unit as I could use the bike carrier on the TV after getting to a destination. The bad news is that I cannot open the back door with the bikes loaded on there.
