Right now we tent camp with three young children and are looking to move up to a pop up. We found one, but don't know if it is a good deal or not. I called Starcraft, but they can't seem to give me the MSRP and when I called the dealer where it came from, they didn't seem to have it either, even though I had the VIN. He just tried to sell me a different one...

2007 Starcraft 2106
air (16 BTU)
furnace
3 way refridgerator
awning
outdoor grill
spare tire and cover

I guess it was used for about 3 months and then repossessed by the bank. The original owners purchased it in May 2007.

Anyone know what the MSRP would have been or what this might have sold for? Or what a good price would be for it now??? They bought it in Iowa and now it is in Wisconsin.

Is it better to buy a new one and get the warranty? This one wouldn't have one according to Starcraft since I would be the second owner. The price we can get it for is $4500 plus tax.

Thanks so much for the help! I just really don't know much about this and trying to learn everything I can from this board. We are excited about the possibility of doing more camping next year!

www.nada.com

Make sure there aren't any title issues.

I googled it and found MSRP ranging from $5,995 to $7,739. It depends on what options have been added, for example the $7,739 has a screen room. I would say the www.nada.com suggestion is a good one. The $4500 price doesn't seem too bad but maybe there is a little wiggle room.

The $7,739 MSRP one I found was selling for $5,495. Find out what nada says, if you want it bad enough pay the $4,500 if you're willing to haggle you can make an offer of what you feel comfortable with.

Starcraft makes a good camper and personally from what I found online, I might be OK with the $4,500 depending on the condition.

I tried NADA, but wasn't sure about the value. The posted price on it was 5500 and they came down already so I think 4500 is the lowest they will go on this. They have the title so there isn't a problem with that...if there were I wouldn't but buying this one.

Also, is this ok to pull with a minivan? It says it is about 1600/1700 pounds. We have a TC touring 2004. It does not have the towing package.

thanks for the info everyone!

If you have the 3.8L engine it will be fine with the following additions.
A class III receiver

A full size spare tire

and check to see if you van already has an auxiliary transmission cooler. If not one should be installed.

As for price Peco camping shows a 2008 listing for $5,995.00 without A/C (add apx $600 for A/C), so $4500 for a 2007 with A/C isn't a bad price.

The 2106 has a GVWR of just over 2000 pounds. so you really need to pack light as with the AC, propane, awning, spare tire and a battery there will be little weight left for your stuff.
