My 2006 Beaver new to us 2 months ago is experiencing close to Dead Batteries after just 2 weeks sitting. I have not shut off the master house "shut off" switch or the toggle "off" switch at the front door.
The (4)batteries are brand new replaced by the dealer.
I always make sure everything (lights, radio, water pump, GPS, fridge etc) is shut off before locking up. Options that are probably drawing amps are the propane detector, co detector, keyless entry, security sys and not aware of anything else that could draw. The wind detector is spinning in the wind ... not sure if thats a draw? The coach is under cover so solar is not operating. Taking the coach for a weekend spin & hooking up to shore power is routine. Also, coach batteries fire up with NO problem ... nice & strong. I'm not familiar with the Aladin electrical read-outs yet as well as the inverter read-out window to understand it's data. Before I try the "OFF switches I thought I'd ask the RV.net experts. Appreciate your input. Thanks. Tom

Cost me a new coach battery when I drained one in two weeks + of sitting - my issue was with the "truck" battery so added a disconnect switch and no problems since. I ALWAYS throw the house batteries switch off for when parking(no elec hookup available) . Too many electronics drawing some power even when all appears off. They will draw down and batteries can be ruined.

My previous two coaches had the battery disconnect for the coach and I always used them for storage. Never lost a battery due to "phantom" power draw. (Sensors for LP detector and the like draw power even when you think you have everything turned off.) Good luck!

Two weeks is 24 times 14 hours, or 336 hours A pair of U-2200 Golf Car Batteries (or Trojan T-105) hold only 232 amp hours and you can only use half of that

So assume your propane detector, and selected other stuff, draws about 1/4 amp total (not unreasonable) and you have .... 84 amp hours.. That is 72% of your usable battery contents.. Add anything, I mean ANYTHING else and that figure goes up even as your batteries run down.

Why don't you shut off the master switches? I have a 06 mountainaire and always use the cutoff switches. have never experienced dead batteries even after sitting ro 8 weeks. Usually Start engine and Generator once per month and batteries are always up.

Use the cutoff switches, that is what they are for.
Some people do not have cut off switches and they can have very poor battery performance since they cannot turn off all the loads.
Some disconnect the cable to the house batteries.
You are lucky to have the switches so you should use them.
