We have five Chicago Cutlery kitchen knives that we want to keep in a drawer. How do you store your knives to protect them in a drawer when traveling?

You can make cardboard sleeves, the cardboard that comes on the back of yellow pads. I guess you feel that the bouncing around in the draw will kill the edges and you are properly right. Another thought would be to use foam. Stick the blades into the foam and cut the foam to fit in the divider of the draw. Have a enjoyable journey. Bill

I took a small towel and start rolling it up placing a knife in the towel each time I roll it up. I actually did this to all my utensils...I just couldn't stand the rattling noise.
You can also use the shelf liners that are used to keep things from moving, those are good for rolling up forks and such.

By saying that you want to keep them in a drawer, does that mean that you don't want to put them in a knife rack designed to mount on the wall? That was our solution...keeps them in a safe location and out of the reach of little hands.
If you want to keep them in a drawer, make or get a wood block to keep them protected and in place. I'm talking about a board that is like a butcher block...a couple of inches thick and with slits cut into it to hold the knife blades.

We bought a magnetic knife holder the I attached to the wall next to the counter, in 9 years of full timing we've never had one fall yet.

The magnetic knife holder is what I have too. While I haven't been the miles jpalm1124 has I haven't ever lost a knife in transit! One of the best, cheap, things I've ever bought.

I keep mine in the wooden block they came in and simply store under the sink while traveling. I just purchased an Ulu knife, so must find a storage place for it.

I also keep mine in a block behind the sink. It is on a piece of rubber shelf liner cut to fit and never moves
